Have you seen this sweet girl?

This is Ella and she’s a total love. She came in today for a tubby. She’s a shelter pup and is looking for her forever home, best friend, couch to potato on, all the lovings, lots of snacks and all that good stuff that comes with having her own family.

When I am lucky enough to find spare time, I head over to see the pups at the Bucksport Animal Shelter, which is where I happened to have met Ella. However, she’s currently fostering at Kamp K-9 while she waits for her big day. If you’d like to help donate to support all the pups Kamp K-9 fosters, here’s the link. 🫶

Most days you’ll find us covered in dog hair, dog skin, shampoo, and whatever else the dogs decide to leave behind but in April, we got to do something a little different. 📸

We traded our smocks for dress clothes, got our nails done, spent way too much time deciding what to wear, and had the opportunity to work with the incredibly talented Zi Photography for a team photo session.

We’re together a lot, but it’s not often that we get to step away from the grooming tables and spend an afternoon doing something different. There were plenty of laughs, lots of photos, and more than a few moments where we were all trying to figure out what to do with our hands.

Over the next few months, you’ll start seeing some of these photos pop up throughout our website, social media, and marketing materials. They’ve already helped us refresh parts of our website, and we’re excited to continue sharing them.

It’s amazing how much this little space has changed in just a few months 🌿

When we first moved into our new grooming studio, most of our focus went into creating a calm, comfortable environment inside the salon for the dogs.

Now we’re finally starting on the outside.

After construction, septic work, and lots of gravel, the grass is starting to grow back and we’re slowly adding the little details that make everything come together.

Still on the list:
repainting our Adirondack chairs & table
more gardens & landscaping
expanding our front porch & walkway
and a new color for the building

We already picked the paint… any guesses what color our little grooming studio will be? 👀

Ella wants to let everyone know we are running low on some supplies to keep the shelter running clean and smooth! We know the community is always a huge help whenever we are in need so Ella figured she'd come ask for a few donations!

We are in desperate need of:

Paper towels
Bleach
RESCUE cleaner
Odoban or Simple Green
Used or new towels
13 gal trash bags
Small blankets for cats
Sanitizing wipes
Wet cat food
Wet dog food

We usually feed food brands like Purina, Iams, Diamond Naturals, Blue Wilderness, etc. but we accept any brand and type! All donations can be dropped off either at the shelter - if no one is there they can be left outside the door since we are in and out a lot throughout the day. They can also be dropped off at the Bucksport Public Safety building on Franklin Street.
