🆘🆘 DANIKA IS SCHEDULED TO BE KILLED ON 7/30 🆘🆘

Danika, is a 1 yo GSD who has been at the Shelter since 7/11. Please watch the above YouTube!
Per her initial behavior assessment, Danika appeared stressed but still affiliative in the kennel on first approach - remained at the front of the kennel, sniffed the trainer's hand and leash gently through the kennel door, but was glancing nervously around the environment, ears back, furrowed brows, some shifting of the weight and front legs, tension in the body/face/tail. She exhibited slight/brief headshy responses when leashing (slight ducking of the head away, ears remained back) but did not escalate in response and readily walked out of the kennel. Her body remained tense as she walked out of the ward, some brief sniffing and tension in the body while sniffing a nearby dog in their kennel, but was able to disengage with some verbal encouragement from the trainer and did not escalate in response at the time. Danika continued walking slowly towards the yard, pausing many times to sniff the ground intensely. She exhibited some slow pacing around the yard, and continued displaying marked tension in the body/face/tail, lowering of the head, ears back throughout the evaluation. She began approaching and engaging with the handlers on a more frequent basis, softening up in body, exhibiting a soft tail wag, often reengaging with the handlers when pet or leaning into them. From time to time some lower-level FAS signals were exhibited when petting, but did not escalate beyond brief lip licking with ears back. Danika exhibited some reactivity with other dogs in passing - marked piloerection and a flagged tail while trotting along fencing following the other dogs, and brief/soft low growling (about 1 second) with the last dog to walk by the yard, but did not escalate to high-intensity growling, charging, lunging, teeth baring, snapping, etc. She was relatively easy to leash and return to the kennel, exhibited brief hesitancy entering the kennel but stepped inside as the trainer walked briefly over the threshold of the kennel door.
Volunteers said this about Danika: She knows sit, and loves treats. She leans in when you sit down, and enjoys your pets and attention. Being near a human that cares makes her so happy.
