As I reflect on my 5 years of pet-sitting, I've learned to set boundaries with last-minute holiday clients who assume I'll not only care for their pets, but also clean their homes. It's empowering to recognize my worth and consider adding a cleaning fee, reminding myself and others that a pet-sitter's role is to nurture pets, not clean houses.
