🚨 EMERGENCY ALERT: PET SAFETY DURING FLOODING 🚨

A Message from Humble Grumble Foster and RescueTo our neighbors in Presque Isle and Cheboygan Counties:
As floodwaters continue to rise across our region, we are issuing an urgent plea to all pet owners: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS BEHIND! Leaving an animal in a crate or tied up during a flood is a death sentence. To your pet, you are their whole world—leaving them in a rising current is terrifying and avoidable. If it is not safe for you, it is not safe for them.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP
Humble Grumble Foster and Rescue is standing by to support our community during this crisis. If you are being displaced and cannot take your pets to your temporary shelter:

TEMPORARY KENNELING: We have limited on-site space for emergency kenneled stays.

FOSTER NETWORK: We will work tirelessly to connect you with temporary emergency fosters who can keep your pets safe until you are back on your feet.

NO JUDGMENT: Our only goal is the safety of your animals and your peace of mind.

📦 YOUR PET’S "GO-BAG" CHECKLIST if you are evacuating, please try to grab the following:

LEASH & COLLAR: Ensure Rabies tags are attached.

FOOD: At least a 3-day supply in a waterproof bag.

MEDS: Any life-saving medications.

A PHOTO: A picture of your pet (to prove ownership if separated).

CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY If you need emergency assistance for your dogs or cats, please reach out to us right away. We will do everything in our power to find a safe, dry place for them to wait out the storm.

I always forget to take a family photo on adoption days 🤦‍♀️. This particular family was patiently looking for a rescue Golden to complete their home, specifically one suited for their very special dog, Harvey, who happens to be visually impaired. They had previously shown interest in Sadie and Nala before Poppy, formerly Jo, so as soon as Poppy got into my vehicle, it was very clear to me that she was destined for this family. She’s getting all the love, and has two human siblings to play with along with Harvey!

Scottie, formerly Nala, has moved on to her new chapter with the most patient, gentle, and understanding family, blessed with an older sister to help guide her. Scottie and Sadie, rescued in October, overcame extensive abuse that left physical and emotional scars that will remain for life, meaning finding them homes required a more experienced and patient family. Yesterday, Scottie found just that! ❤️ Both girls made remarkable progress while here, and I have no doubt they will continue their journey of healing with their families that couldn't be more perfect for them. Marty and Christine, thank you for being you and opening your hearts to the less fortunate. Speaking with you both yesterday and seeing how comfortable Scottie became in such a short amount of time, I knew she was right at home.

This beautiful kitty still needs a home! She’s located at the bottom of Michigan. Finder is willing to meet rescuer.

The finder believes this stunning feline has been abandoned and is now reaching out for help. Local humane societies are overwhelmed where she is located. She has been selflessly caring for this lovely creature as much as she can, but unfortunately, their indoor cats aren't friendly with other felines, so she's unable to bring her inside. This gorgeous girl is currently in southern Michigan, and the finder is more than willing to meet halfway to ensure she finds a forever home filled with love. Anyone willing to provide this deserving rescue kitty a new home?
