I disrupted their cat nap, so neither was thrilled. However, they both received a good bath, some eye meds, and flea and worm treatments. Both are males, Gus and Ash, named by Ellie.

They were found by an employee at a golf course.

They aren't canines, but they did need help. They were found in a woodpile and, unfortunately, their momma hasn't returned for them in days. One is a boy and the other is a girl. My girls named them Shadow and Stormy. They're too small to be adopted into a forever home yet, but if anyone is seeking a new fur baby, send us a message and we can put you on a list for when the time comes.

🐶 PUPPIES! 🐶

We have been contacted by a local dog owner whose mama dog just welcomed a litter of 4 (possibly 5) Beagle puppies today!

To ensure these little ones get the best possible start in life, Humble Grumble Foster and Rescue is partnering with the owner to manage their health and future placement. We will be overseeing their vetting process—including deworming, vaccinations, and ensuring they are ready for their forever homes once they are old enough. We will continue to post pictures as well as gender once momma is more comfortable and rested.

We know Beagle puppies are irresistible, and we expect a high level of interest. If you are interested in potentially adding one of these pups to your family in the coming weeks Please send us a private message.

🐾🐕I am often asked what drives our mission. Usually, the answer is simple: a commitment to compassion, safety, and the well-being of the vulnerable. 🐩🐾

Many have asked why a dog rescue organization is spearheading a fundraiser for victims of a dog attack. The answer is rooted in the very core of why we exist. Our organization is built on the belief that every life deserves care, protection, and a support system when tragedy strikes.

Destiny has been a tireless advocate for our community. Whether she is teaching our children through her dance classes or raising funds to support local organizations, including our own rescue, she has consistently modeled what it means to be a neighbor.

Animal welfare does not exist in a vacuum, it is part of a larger ecosystem of community safety and mutual respect. While our daily work involves finding homes for the neglected, our ultimate goal is a community where animals and people thrive together in safety. When that safety is shattered, we do not look away, we step in.

We have raised $998 this past week in pop cans and will continue to turn them in this week. May 2nd will be the last day of our fundraiser, and although the cans may not all be returned by then, we will continue to return them with a final total posted on our page. We would like to thank each and every one of you who donated and took the time to help turn in the pop cans.
Times like this is when communities need to stick together, Presque isle and cheboygan county did not disappoint!

🚨 EMERGENCY ALERT: PET SAFETY DURING FLOODING 🚨

A Message from Humble Grumble Foster and RescueTo our neighbors in Presque Isle and Cheboygan Counties:
As floodwaters continue to rise across our region, we are issuing an urgent plea to all pet owners: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS BEHIND! Leaving an animal in a crate or tied up during a flood is a death sentence. To your pet, you are their whole world—leaving them in a rising current is terrifying and avoidable. If it is not safe for you, it is not safe for them.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP
Humble Grumble Foster and Rescue is standing by to support our community during this crisis. If you are being displaced and cannot take your pets to your temporary shelter:

TEMPORARY KENNELING: We have limited on-site space for emergency kenneled stays.

FOSTER NETWORK: We will work tirelessly to connect you with temporary emergency fosters who can keep your pets safe until you are back on your feet.

NO JUDGMENT: Our only goal is the safety of your animals and your peace of mind.

📦 YOUR PET’S "GO-BAG" CHECKLIST if you are evacuating, please try to grab the following:

LEASH & COLLAR: Ensure Rabies tags are attached.

FOOD: At least a 3-day supply in a waterproof bag.

MEDS: Any life-saving medications.

A PHOTO: A picture of your pet (to prove ownership if separated).

CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY If you need emergency assistance for your dogs or cats, please reach out to us right away. We will do everything in our power to find a safe, dry place for them to wait out the storm.
