My good friend sent me your giveaway, and I can’t even begin to say what it would mean to be considered. I’d be truly honored to enter!
This is my mare, Elsie (It's All Voodoo) 🎀 — my Silver Spurs bred girl, a 2018 Shiners Voodoo Dr mare — but more than that, she’s been my steady light in one of the hardest seasons of my life.
Elsie came into my world right when everything felt like it was falling apart. My heart horse, my show partner, suffered a career-ending injury, and not long after, I had to make the impossible heart wrenching decision to euthanize her in 2025. Anyone who’s ever loved a horse like that knows… it leaves a space that never really fills.
But somehow, Elsie stepped in and helped carry me through! She didn’t just pick up the pieces — she gently stitched them back together. She became my best friend, my partner in crime, and the one I could always count on when I needed to just breathe, reset, and remember why I fell in love with horses in the first place.
While reining didn’t end up being her strongest path, she’s given me something just as special. We’ve found joy in the little things — ranch classes, quiet trail rides, and those peaceful moments where I just stand there and admire her, knowing she’s exactly what I needed, even if I didn’t know it at the time.
My heart will always belong to the reiners, and I still carry big dreams and have goals I want to smash. That’s why I hope to make Elsie a producer — to carry on her line and give me the chance to raise my next show partner, one I can start from the ground up and chase those dreams with again.
Through heartbreak, healing, and everything in between… Elsie has been my constant. My easy, uncomplicated, ‘grab-and-go’ kind of horse — the kind that reminds you that sometimes, the ones who aren’t part of the original plan end up meaning the most.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration — it truly means more than words can say. 😊 - Lily Hill
