Thank you all for the words of sympathy and support following the loss of our beloved young stallion Never Never Land. We appreciate the love sent our way, knowing so many of you have also suffered losses that are hard to bear. With great passions also comes sadness at times - we look forward to spring, new foals, and all the joy our horses bring us daily in so many ways…

This is not a post I ever imagined making, at least not for many, many years… there are no words that work at all, to express our sadness. In one moment to the next, we lost one of the brightest rising stars of the barn, and the future plans for our pony breeding program. Never Never Land will live on in so many memories, and our hopes and dreams. My greatest sadness is for my daughter Alethea Kustar, as she loved him so. But we also remember him and our dreams for the future with such joy, and look forward to that spark and connection with more special ponies to come. Many thanks to our wonderful barn family at Heritage Equestrian International - Hannah, Paige, Alexis and everyone at the barn for the perfect care and happy life you gave him – from the moment he arrived from Germany until the last moment of his life – he knew no fear, no pain, ever. Fly high Tink – we miss you here, and know that like all good residents of Neverland, you will never grow old…

What a wonderful day with the Rappahannock Hunt for Thea’s first time fox hunting. She rode our homebred pony SF Shazam ( SF Spirit x Makuba). The day was bright and beautiful, Shazam loves hunting and is so brave and honest- I think the big open spaces remind him of the South Dakota prairie where he grew up! Thanks to Jessica Chappell for introducing Thea to the hunt!

Congratulations to Intermediate Single Horse National Champion: Bettina Scherer and SF Arendell (Connaisseur x Highlife's Ariane - Pilox). This young mare grew up as naturally as a horse can on thousands of acres of South Dakota prairie at Solomon Farm, was started lightly under saddle by our excellent c**t starter Wade Fox and was brought along beautifully and is excelling in her new career with Bettina! Ariane has been a wonderful broodmare after her performance career ... she has a lovely Sir Heinrich 3 y.o. filly nicknamed Friendly for obvious reasons, a yearling by Fürst Nymphenburg, and is expecting a foal by Dreamscape Farm's Finnigan for 2024. SF Spirited is the chestnut with all the bling on the left (SF Spirit x Bucs Indian Paintbrush (Welsh B), and the black beauty on the right is SF Goodnight Kiss (French Kiss x SF Goodnight Moon).

This guy was stabled next to our stallion Bo at the stallion sport test last fall at Hilltop - my daughter and I really fell in love with him- he’s not only a big swingy mover but he’s just so laid back and sweet… I swear you could hear him snoring peacefully as he rested in his stall 😝

There are some amazing stallions in the 2023 Westfalen Stallion Service Auction this year! 90 in all - this one - Candola D- is new to Avalon Equine this year and he’s so well bred - I’m looking forward to using him in 2023!
