Dachshund diaries
Entry # 4943
This is not a new lesson but a reminder. Saturday I laundered our bedding and even washed Emily Sue, and went to bed feeling accomplished and clean. 😊😊😊
Unfortunately, I woke up early Sunday to Emily acting weird. 😑😑😑 Yesterday, she wasn’t feeling well so we just have been observing her. I took her outside to p*e and when we came back to bed, I realized she didn’t want to return to her normal spot. Strange. I thought. We all have our designated spots in our bed.
Upon further inspection, I realized it was wet. She apparently p*ed in her sleep. Ugh. Loving frosty face senior dachshunds means accidents happen. Emily will be 13 in November 2025.
Thankfully, I have learned over the last 21 years of living with these handsome hounds to put extra blankets under our dogs just in case an accident occurs. P*e. P**p. And vomit just happens sometimes, and it is best to be prepared.
It might not be the prettiest picture, but I have multiple blankets on the bed and couch!!! When company comes over, I often put a few away but when it’s just family; we’re covered in extra blankets! 😂😂😂
So… I spent Sunday doing bed linen and dog blankets AGAIN!!! Sometimes loving dachshunds means doing things twice!!! 😂😂😂 Fun!
I think Emily is still not 100% herself yet, but we’ll keep watching and if needs be, I’ll happily do laundry again tomorrow!!! That’s just life with our precious pups. No complaints. Just gratitude. 🙏 🙏🙏
Can you relate???
