We’ve been keeping a pretty exciting secret… 🤎🐾

After a LOT of searching, comparing pedigrees, asking questions, and thinking hard about the future of our program, we officially made a big decision and added a very special male to our program!

He has already earned his JH title and will continue working toward his SH title before eventually making his way home to us.

This wasn’t a decision we made lightly, but after looking at so many different options, we kept coming back to this boy and everything he has to offer — temperament, trainability, hunting ability, structure, and the kind of versatility we want to continue building into our program.

For now, we’re going to keep his identity a little bit of a secret… but we are SO excited for what the future holds. 🤎

And while we keep his name under wraps a little longer, enjoy this puppy picture of him already doing what he was bred to do — bird in mouth and all business in the field. 🤎

🐾💕 A Little Change in Plans! 💕🐾

As many of you know, our original plan for Fonzee this cycle was to repeat her pairing with Stryker after being so incredibly happy with their Spice Girls litter this spring!

Well… sometimes the dogs have plans of their own. 😂🤦‍♀️ Unfortunately, Stryker just wasn’t quite as interested in our plans as we were this time around, so we had to make a little change!

We are excited to share that Fonzee has now been paired with Frank! ❤️🐾

And if Frank sounds familiar, he should! Frank is the sire of Georgia’s Lucky 13 litter, and we’ve also received so much wonderful feedback about those puppies as they’ve grown as well. We have been extremely happy with what we’ve seen from them, which made us feel very comfortable moving forward with Frank when our original plans didn’t work out.

While this wasn’t the pairing we initially announced, we’re honestly really excited to see what Fonzee × Frank can produce! We already know what we love about Fonzee’s puppies, and we’ve gotten to watch what Frank produced for us this spring—now we get to see what these two may create together. 🤩

Of course, nothing is guaranteed quite yet, so now we wait, cross our fingers, and hope Mother Nature is on our side! 🤞🏼💕

💕🐾 Another Lucky 13 update! 🐾💕

I seriously cannot get enough of the updates we continue to receive from our Lucky 13 families! 🥹

These babies will be 5 months old this week, and watching them grow into their personalities has been so much fun. Hearing how loved they are, how well they’re doing, and seeing what beautiful young dogs they’re becoming makes my heart so happy. ❤️

“I haven’t sent an update in a while but here are some recent pictures of Sylvie (Goldie). This girl has a s***ky personality and loves to play! She has been doing great on leash walks and off lead. She has really started to love play fetch and her retrievals have been improving. We have introduced her to grouse scent and we are excited to get her out in the woods with us this fall. She is crazy about the water and loves to swim or splash around any chance she gets. Even with all her s***k and sass at the end of the day she loves to just settle down and cuddle with us. She likes to tag along with us on outings and we get a lot of compliments not only on her looks but also her demeanor. She does so well in a public setting. She is the best dog and just love her so much. Thanks!!”

🐾🎉 Exciting News at V.V. Berg Kennels! 🎉🐾

We’ve got some exciting news to share… Fonzee is officially back in season! ❤️🐶

After watching the Spice Girls litter grow and receiving so many incredible updates from their families, the decision became an easy one—we’re planning a repeat pairing! ✨

The feedback we’ve received has been everything we could have hoped for. These pups are proving to be exactly what we strive to produce—confident, intelligent, eager to please, and wonderful family companions with plenty of natural drive.

We couldn’t be more excited to repeat this pairing and look forward to seeing another exceptional litter this fall. We truly believe this cross has so much to offer, and we’re excited to build on the success of the first litter.

🐾Miss Sporty Update!🐾

I couldn’t be more excited to share this little girl’s progress! 💛

Sporty continues to impress us every single day. She has an incredible natural desire to retrieve, and it’s becoming more obvious with every training session that this is something she absolutely loves. Watching her race out, confidently pick up the retrieve, and bring it back with enthusiasm has been so much fun.

She is proving to be a smart, biddable puppy with a fantastic work ethic. She learns quickly, is eager to please, and approaches every new challenge with confidence. Those are exactly the qualities we hoped to see when we decided to keep her as part of our program. 🖤

She’s still just a baby, so we’re taking things one step at a time and making sure every training session is positive and fun. There is a lot to learn yet, but we couldn’t be happier with the foundation she’s building.

I have a feeling this little girl has a bright future ahead of her, and I can’t wait to continue sharing her journey with all of you. 💕🐶

💕🐾 Tonight was one of those moments I hope becomes part of our family’s future. 🥹

My daughter is only 3 years old, but she’s always had a love for our dogs and is constantly asking if she can “help” Mom. Tonight, she got to be part of Miss Sporty’s training session, helping with her retrieves, and it was something I’ll never forget. 💛

Watching her cheer Sporty on, throw a retrieve, and beam with excitement every time Sporty came running back reminded me why I started this journey in the first place. These dogs have become more than a breeding program—they’re helping create memories and traditions that I hope my children will carry with them for years to come. 🖤🐶

One day, I hope this kennel is more than just a dream and a passion. I hope it’s my full-time job and something our family builds together. Until then, I’ll happily take evenings just like this—watching my little girl learn, watching Sporty do what she loves, and realizing that these are the moments I’ll treasure the most. ✨

Some dreams aren’t built overnight… they’re built one puppy, one retrieve, and one little helper at a time. 💕

🐾🇺🇸 What a fantastic holiday weekend it has been over here at V.V. Berg Kennels! 🇺🇸🐾

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable weekend with family and friends! 💛

One of the highlights for us was bringing Miss Sporty back home on Friday after she completed 6 weeks of foundation training. We couldn’t be more proud of this little girl! 🖤🐶

Sporty has proven herself to be a very smart cookie with an incredible willingness to learn. She approaches new challenges with confidence, has a natural desire to retrieve, and continues to impress us with her drive and eagerness to work. Watching her grow over these past six weeks has only made us more excited for her future. ✨🐾

We’re excited to continue her journey here at home and can’t wait to share more training updates as she continues to mature. We have high hopes for this special girl, and we think she’s just getting started! 👀💕

One more for the week🐾💕

“She’s becoming a really great dog. Still tons of energy which we are channeling into training. She’s doing great fetching and grabbing dummies. She doesn’t lose interest in anything she’s super determined. Has hacked the food puzzles because she’s smart! She’s learning calmness brings rewards not being a psycho. And now we are starting to bring her to all the sports games we can to get her socialized.”

💕🐾 Another happy puppy update that absolutely made our day! 🥹🐶

“Someone LOVES running through the wildflowers and sometimes you can find one in her mouth {zoom in real close 🤣}! Also someone thinks they’re an actual human baby child and really would like to nap in our bed from time to time. I could just die this girl is giving me life right now! 😍😍😍”
