One of the biggest misconceptions in the dog world is that toy / small breeds aren't smart. The truth? They're incredibly intelligent. Daisy Mae is a 9 week old toy Australian Shepherd weighing 4.5 lbs.
Just because they're small doesn't mean they're any less capable of learning. Toy / small breeds can excel in training and everyday manners when they're given clear guidance and consistent training.
Their size often leads people to excuse unwanted behaviors that wouldn't be tolerated in larger dogs. It's not because they can't learn it's because they haven't been taught.
