Yesterday we enjoyed a beautiful hike above CSU Hayward. This hike had my favorite things: lush green trails along a running creek and panoramic views of the Bay. We stayed cool on the shady trails and had a nice breeze on the hillside. This loop was a little over 3 miles with 400ft of elevation gain. We got a bit of a late start but only encountered about 5 people on our hike, as this is a lesser-known entrance.

Here’s a magical place most do not know exists! This dog-friendly sculpture park features 5 large scale art pieces (10ft+) moved from the Burning Man festival. Each piece has incredibly intricate details and even some special features. Just steps away from the sculptures, you’ll find a trail along the water and a small beach. There’s also a BBQ restaurant here (with vegetarian/vegan options) and live music (Fri-Sun). Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the scenery. I haven’t posted in a while but there are
a bunch of new hikes on the website. Here’s a few from our road trip to Mendocino! We found breathtaking coastal trails along the bluffs, a beautiful beach with tide pools and lots of abalone shells, huge groves of redwoods and a secret swimming hole!

New Tiburon hike!

NEW HIKE! I’m excited to announce that we spent the last few weekends exploring Tiburon, and I have been working hard to provide write-ups on new spots to share! Old Saint Hillary’s Open Space/ Tiburon Uplands is my favorite new hike! This hike is incredible and offers some of the best views in the bay! 360 degree, panoramic views. You can see SF, the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, The Marin Headlands and the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. It has been a while since I posted. As many of you may know, Bailey passed away and it has been difficult for me to continue our hikes and posting. Today I received some news that made my heart happy. Save the Redwoods League contacted me and asked to use some of photos of Bailey on hikes for their publication “29 Awesome Dog-Friendly Redwood Parks.” It makes me so happy to know that Bailey’s memory lives on through things like this, and that she is still helping other dogs and their owners find new adventures. We hope everyone is staying safe, staying sane, still getting some fresh air and exercise (while social distancing). It’s a beautiful day today and these lesser-known trails aren’t crowded so you can still observe social distancing. It’s a beautiful, clear day out today. We enjoyed the views and even saw the grizzly from the zoo in the distance. And of course the dogs had a blast! This is from the trailhead starting off of Malcom Ave. There were a few people and some dogs, but not many. We also went to the Golf Links Road trailhead today and walked that trail.
