Oakdale Dog Shelter of Louisiana As a community we are all responsible for the well being of animals we chose to love. We are not building a dog pound. This is an animal control facility.

Our goal is to remove illegal animals from the streets(those are animals that are not wearing the proper tags), promote responsibility of pet owners, and find loving safe homes for the animals whose owners refuse to accept responsibility for their animals.

Check out this video of Willow! There was a side by side riding on the other side of the fence and this girl was not happy. So not only is she a sweetheart - we believe she would be a good alert dog! She checks all of the boxes: she doesn’t have accidents in her kennel, she plays well with the other dogs, she loves to snuggle and be loved on when she’s not playing! And now this! Oh - and she’s a beautiful girl who is of medium size! So we don’t understand why she can’t get a home! Please share this video!

Another one of our babies found their forever home! Mabel, who is now Allie, hit the jackpot! From giving birth to six pups in a not so desirable location to sleeping in the bed with her mom! We are so incredibly happy for this sweet, sweet girl! Mabel (Allie) - ADOPTED!!

Sending out a big thank you to the Plainview Youth Volunteer Club for their donation to our shelter! We had the pleasure of having these young men and women volunteer at our shelter before. We were looking forward to having them again but our schedules kept getting in the way! But they still donated to our pups! We look forward to having them volunteer next year!!

Ashe loves to be outside running and playing and jumping in her pool. Sometimes you have to bribe her to go back inside. She certainly knows where one of her shelter moms keeps the treats!! The sweetest girl EVER!!
