In Loving Memory of Gyoza 💔

One year ago, our incredible foster was out for a walk when she spotted a frail, matted cat hidden in the bushes. The moment Gyoza saw her, she came running—desperate, but trusting. Caitlin was already at her foster limit, but there was no way she could leave this sweet senior girl behind. Gyoza was severely underweight, covered in mats, and in visible pain from dental disease. Despite her condition, she purred, allowed herself to be picked up, and was gently carried home to safety.

Since that day, Gyoza has been a fighter. Over the last year, she required frequent vet visits, battled kidney issues, and endured severe stomatitis. She was on medication, received fluids, and lived as a cherished fospice cat. Caitlin gave her everything—comfort, love, and dignity in her final chapter.

Last week, Gyoza was scheduled for another dental procedure. She had successfully undergone anesthesia before and was cleared for this one. Tragically, during the surgery, her heart gave out. Despite the vet team’s best efforts, she could not be revived. Her little body had finally reached its limit.

We are devastated by her passing. But we also know her story could have ended so differently if not for Caitlin’s compassion that day in the bushes. Because of her, Gyoza knew safety, warmth, and unconditional love in her final year.

Juanita is settling in to her foster home but she is still looking for her forever home! At 6 years old she was surrendered to the shelter after being in the only home and with the only owner she knew. Unfortunately his landlord told him he could no longer keep Juanita, so he had no choice but to surrender her to the shelter. She is very sweet. She lived with other cats and also had kittens 6 years ago that she did well with. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped. Foster Needed by This Friday!

We’re urgently looking for a foster home for *two adorable 3-month-old kittens*, Sparkly (female) and Snowy (male), currently located in **Little Falls, NJ**.

Their current foster is heading out for the holiday weekend, and we’d love to avoid bouncing them around if possible. One of them (*Sparkly*) already has a forever home lined up, but her family can’t take her until after the weekend. So ideally:

* **Snowy** would stay with you until he’s adopted.
* **Sparkly** would just need a short-term foster through the holiday weekend and be able to coordinate with her new family for them to bring her home.

Gemma is still waiting for her forever home! 💎

This gorgeous grey beauty has been with us far too long, and we know her perfect match is out there. Gemma is about 4 years old and was rescued from the streets of Newark under heartbreaking circumstances—pregnant and alone. Sadly, none of her premature kittens survived, but Gemma has since been spayed, safe, and healing in her foster home.

She’s come a long way emotionally and is so ready for a fresh start. Gemma would thrive as a solo cat (hello, queen of the castle!) but she also gets along well with other cats. While we’re not certain how she’d do with dogs, a calm and mellow pup might be just fine with the right introduction.

Gemma has a gentle soul and just needs a little patience and a lot of love to feel fully at home. She’s being fostered in South Orange, NJ.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED BY TOMORROW AFTERNOON! 🚨

About 6 years ago, we helped a kind older man fix and vet a pair of cats and their kittens. The kittens were adopted as well as the male cat, but the momma cat, Juanita, stole his heart—and he gave her a loving home ever since.

Sadly, he recently had to surrender her to a local shelter after falling on hard times. He was devastated to let her go and only brought her in because he couldn’t find our contact information. This is not a case of abandonment—he truly cared and wanted to do what was best for Juanita.

💔 Juanita is now sitting in a shelter cage, confused and scared. She has only ever known the comfort of a home. We need to pull her TOMORROW before 5 PM—but we desperately need a foster home lined up ASAP.

Update: foster found!

🚨URGENT FOSTER PLEA – MOM & 4 KITTENS NEED OUT NOW! 🆘

This sweet mama and her 4 babies are living in heartbreaking conditions—and we need a foster **IMMEDIATELY** to give them a chance at life.

A vet tech we work with was contacted by a woman who said she’s about to **release this little family outside** if no one can take them. These kittens have been **locked in a small pink crate in a dark, humid basement since birth.** They’ve never known freedom, sunlight, or love beyond that cramped space.

The woman is begging us to help with the kittens—because they’re crying constantly and she “can’t take it anymore.”

They are desperate for a safe, clean, loving home—even a temporary one.
**We will provide everything you need: food, litter, supplies, vet care—you just provide the space and love.**

**Rest in Peace, Sweet Cookie**
Our hearts are shattered today.

What started as a plea to help an abandoned stray cat with a swollen face turned into a whirlwind of love, urgency, and heartbreak. Cookie, who was likely abandoned and living outside for some time, had just found safety 2 months ago. Thanks to a kind-hearted person, Ivana, who had been feeding him and alerted us, we were able to bring him in with the help of a rescue community that quickly came together.

Cookie was brought inside with plans to see the vet and then settle into foster care. He spent his first safe night in Ivana’s home before heading to his foster mom Tugba, who instantly loved him.

But this morning, everything changed. Cookie was breathing rapidly, and Tugba rushed him to our vet. X-rays showed a lesion on his lung, and he was referred to AERA for more advanced imaging. It was there that we received the devastating news—Cookie was in heart failure. Even with an aggressive treatment plan, he would have only had about 6 months to live, filled with medications and discomfort. He was already struggling to breathe.

With heavy hearts, we made the decision to let him go peacefully, with his foster mom by his side. Cookie crossed the rainbow bridge knowing love, warmth, and safety—not alone on the streets.

It wasn’t the outcome any of us wanted. He deserved so much more. But in the last two months, thanks to Tugba and this community, he knew what love felt like.

We love you, Cookie. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you to everyone who helped along the way.

**Meet Tallulah (formerly Tangerine)!** This sweet girl is looking for her forever home. We first rescued Tallulah two years ago when she was found heavily pregnant on the streets. She was adopted into a loving home, but due to no fault of her own, she now needs a new family.

Her current family recently welcomed a newborn who, unfortunately, has developed severe allergies to Tallulah. While they love her dearly, keeping her confined long-term wouldn’t be fair. Now, we’re hoping to find her the perfect home where she can thrive!

Tallulah is extremely affectionate and friendly. She was an amazing mama, so she would likely do well with other cats. She’s also currently living with small children. She is 3-4 years young, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and FIV/FeLV negative.

**💖 Tendi’s Progress Update: She’s Thriving! 💖**

We are beyond thrilled to share that our little warrior, Tendi, is continuing to make remarkable strides! After being released from the emergency animal hospital on Saturday night, she’s been recovering beautifully in her medical foster home over the past two days.

Tendi is eating small meals every 2 hours to help keep her glucose levels up, and so far, she’s been doing *great*! She’s even back to purring and being her sweet, affectionate self. We are so incredibly grateful that we were able to give her this second chance—and it’s all thanks to you, our amazing supporters.

From being on death’s door to now thriving, Tendi is a true fighter, and we couldn’t be more proud of how far she’s come. But her journey is not over yet. We still need your help to cover the remainder of her hospital stay, as well as future expenses like food and ongoing vet care. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference in Tendi’s recovery.
