Luca is an approximately 2-year-old Yorkie mix, and our adorable Chi girl Olive is 7 years old and sweet as pie. 💕

Both are settling into loving homes, and we can’t wait to share more about their personalities as we get to know them better.

🎉 And now the news you’ve all been waiting for… drumroll, please! 🥁

Sully, the sad and skinny 12-year-old Elderbull, has officially left the shelter! ❤️

He is settling into a loving foster home and will be heading to what we hope is his forever home on Friday. After spending far too long in a kennel, this sweet and gentle boy is finally getting the chance he deserves. He had double entropion surgery and is recovering nicely after his neuter and having some teeth pulled.

Stay tuned for Sully’s transformation. His golden years will be filled with full bellies, soft beds, and endless love. 🐾

🚨🍬 URGENT: Jellybean Needs a New Foster or Forever Home 🍬🚨

This 6-month-old, 30-pound baby had an incident with the resident dog in her foster home and now urgently needs a new placement. Despite everything, she remains loving, happy, and full of puppy joy. 💕

Jellybean was found as a puppy with an old fracture to her front leg. Unfortunately, her leg is not healing properly after surgery and she will soon have a consultation for an amputation. She will be a tripawd with 3 legs. The good news is that dogs adapt incredibly well, and her recovery is expected to be only two weeks. 🩷

Yesterday, a group of passionate animal welfare organizations came together for the first Michigan Animal Welfare Coalition meet-up.

The Michigan Animal Welfare Coalition was created to bring rescues, shelters, and animal welfare advocates together to collaborate, share resources, solve challenges, and strengthen our collective impact across the state.

Too often, organizations are working toward the same goals in isolation. By building relationships, sharing ideas, and supporting one another, we can help more animals, keep more pets in their homes, support our communities, and create lasting change for animal welfare in Michigan.

This gathering was just the beginning. We had meaningful conversations about the needs we see every day, opportunities to work together, and ways we can better support both animals and the people who care for them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We are excited about what we can accomplish when we work together.

This sweet 12-year-old elderbull is so sad and skinny in the overcrowded Detroit shelter. He deserves out of a kennel and onto a soft, cozy bed with people who love him.

He will be fully vetted and ready to go — he just needs a safe place to land, whether that’s a foster home or forever family. 🐾
