And just like that, our sweet Dixie has one more ride left before she reaches her forever home. ❤️
This is Dixie riding with Jess from .tailing_transport. Tonight she’ll stay in Georgia while meeting up with other transporters, and tomorrow she’ll continue on to Shreveport, Louisiana, where her new family is waiting for her.
We are going to miss this girl more than words can explain. Dixie is one of the sweetest pigs we have ever met, the kind everybody fell in love with instantly from day one.
But our hearts are also so full, because for the first time in her life, Dixie is finally getting everything she deserves. She’s going to be a house pig. No more living outside. No more hoop house with a tarp roof. No more surviving. She finally gets to just live and be loved the way she always should have been.
And if for any reason things ever didn’t work out, she knows she will always have a home here with us.
Thank you to every single person who donated last night. Together, we raised $210 toward her transport. Her transport fee is $600, which leaves $390 still needed for Dixie’s trip home.
We also need to raise $1,280 for the next six pigs heading to Florida. This is Izzy’s family who has been through hell and back. They will finally get the chance to rest and retire.
