What’s in your flock first aid kit? 🩺🐓
I found this adorable caddy at Target, put my Cricut Maker to work, and my little “Flock First Aid Kit” was born 🥲💗
Over time, I’ve learned there are a few things I always like to keep on hand for my flock — especially because with chickens, things can go downhill fast if you’re not prepared.
And honestly? Poultry Cell/Rooster Booster and Nutri-Drench are probably my two biggest holy grail items and my first go-to anytime I have a bird that seems stressed, weak, off, recovering, or just not acting like themselves.
Here are some of my must-haves:
• Poultry Cell / Rooster Booster — supportive vitamins + iron for stressed, weak, recovering, or nutritionally depleted birds
• Nutri-Drench — quick energy and vitamin boost that absorbs fast when birds aren’t eating or drinking well
• Flock Shield Respiratory Aid (or VetRX) — supportive care for mild respiratory symptoms/congestion
• Electrolyte + vitamin packets
• Vetericyn wound spray — for cleaning minor wounds, pecking injuries, or irritated skin
• Blu-Kote — helps protect wounds and discourages pecking because of the blue color
• Vet wrap bandages — helpful for wrapping feet, securing gauze, or protecting injuries
• Permethrin / mite treatment — for treating mites, lice, and other pests
• Corid — used to treat coccidiosis, especially important to have during chick season
• Syringe/dropper — essential for carefully giving fluids, vitamins, or medication to weak birds
• Dog nail clippers — perfect for trimming chicken nails if needed
• Scissors — because somehow you always end up needing scissors 😂
I even keep a little hen saddle tucked in there just in case 💗
And yes… disposable gloves should absolutely be in there too. Mine somehow disappear every single time I need them mysteriously😅
I’m curious - what are your must-have flock first aid items that you always keep around? 👀
