This is a good guide if you’re thinking about shoulder mount taxidermy.

Archery season is almost upon us!! Yay!!
Here’s some tips on preserving a hide for shoulder mount 👌🏽🏹

•use sharp knives(cut from skin side to preserve hair)**leave plenty of brisket**
•take your time(can leave hide on head if you don’t feel comfortable skinning face)
•keep it cool(air out hide in cool/dry place before rolling it up) keep out of sun🚫🌞
•get it to taxidermist asap!
• if you can’t bring it to taxidermist right away:
•once cooled, roll it up, double bag with garbage bags, place on top of ice in cooler.(do not submerge in water).
• Place in freezer until ready to mount.
