Hello everyone. What a flip in the weather. I hope you and your animals are staying cool and well  hydrated . Just something to think about . Everyone asks me after 46 years of being a trainer what is the real secret to training dogs. Thats an easy answer. Training the owners . If you can’t get the owners to understand what is necessary or do what is necessary. The dog will never have a chance and will always go back to their old ways. Have a great day and stay cool. Hello everyone. I am just getting done with rehabilitating a couple of great dogs and owners. They were having a lot of issues because they were trained with food and ran alot. The dogs never listened when in high drive. They were also always high in energy because the dogs brains thought they should run to fix them and make them calm. Running promotes craziness and getting treats for it only makes it worse. Dogs and owners are now rehabilitated by longtime repetition training for calmness and patience with proper rewards of calm petting from owners when the dogs are calm. It takes alot of time and patience but is worth it for you and the dogs for a stability in both of your lives. Enjoy the day THE DOG GUY

Good morning everyone. I am a very safety trainer. Just wanted to pass along what I heard yesterday. When hiking on trails owners are letting their dogs off leash and some people don’t agree with it. People are now starting to put treats on the trails with fish hooks in them. That is just one reason why I never have trained a dog with food. Be safe

Good morning 😃 I get calls all the time on older dogs with serious issues. My question to you is if you love them why do you leave them in such trauma?Training starts the day you touch them. You say you love them. I say they depend on you. Have a great day. THE DOG GUY

Good morning 😃. Just something to think about. When dogs are aloud to walk in front of you they may think that they are in control and have to lead in life. When dogs walk by the side of you on a loose lead most feel much safer and generally have a better bond with their owner. Just my opinion on rehabilitating dogs for 46 years Be safe and enjoy the day THE DOG GUY 🙂

Good morning everyone . It’s been a long winter but beautiful weather is coming. YEAH . You probably can’t wait to get out to town and with your dog and enjoy the sun. I don’t blame you one bit. But I will ask you to please be careful . Ask yourself are you ready ? Is your training being fair to your dog and courteous to others ?Do you have the proper training and control ?Do other people have control of their animals ? If you really love your animals and your self let’s be honest and safe. Don’t let your ego put others in danger. Everyone doesn’t like everyone. Every animal doesn’t like every animal . Just my opinion and trying to keep everyone safe . I LOVE DOGS . Words of wisdom from a man who has given 45 years giving dogs and humans a better life . Enjoy and be safe . THE DOG GUY

Hello to everyone out there. I just wanted to remind you with this crazy weather we have been having to check your dog house if you have your dogs outside during this time. The bedding might feel fine on the top but the bottom may be a chunk of ice. In the winter time I also like to keep dogs toe nails just a little bit longer than normal but not too long to break or crack. It gives them extra traction on the ice. This way hopefully they won’t pull a muscle or maybe even break something. I hope you are also being careful and if you have to walk on the ice you are wearing ice cleats. Just something to think about. I hope everyone is doing well and I will see you in the spring. The Dog Guy
