A little poem taken from poetry book written in Camberlay, UK.
This photo is of “Camberley Kate”, the lady who roamed the streets with her “stray dogs” cart and picked up all the abandoned. It is said that during her lifetime she rescued and gave a loving home to more than 600 stray dogs.

Today I honor this inspiring lady and her legacy, she dedicated her life to saving dogs, and being kind to all animals.

If you’ve been running on empty, here’s your nudge to slow down, check in, and take care of the person your animals count on most.

Because they feel it when we’re tapped out and they show up for us in their own quiet ways. Let’s return the favor by taking care of ourselves, too.

Try one of these today –
🐾 Let your dog lead a slow, sniffy walk. No goals, just follow their nose.
☀️ Soak up some sunshine with your cat (hormone balancing + cat purrs = magical healing).

Emergencies don't exactly RSVP ahead of time – tornadoes, floods, fires – they just show up, sometimes out of nowhere. And your pets rely completely on you when that happens.

Here's some tips on how you can make sure everyone stays safe and calm if things ever get dicey:

🎒 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗞𝗶𝘁 (𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘄):
Pack these essentials in an easy-to-carry, waterproof container
- Food & Water
- Medications
- Sanitation Items
- Important Docs
- Travel Gear & Crate
- First Aid Kit
- Comfort Items

🌪️ 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻:
- Know Your Routes
- Buddy System
- Stay Alert & Informed

📸 𝗣𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀!
- Ensure every pet is clearly identified with:
- Updated collars & ID tags
- Microchip registration (keep your contact info current!)
- Current photos with you to help identify them quickly.

🏡 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲:
- Identify secure, quiet, interior spaces to shelter in place if evacuation isn't possible.
- Practice crate or carrier training so your pets feel safe when needed.
- Keep your pets inside and close to you during weather warnings, so you don’t need to hunt for them in a crisis. Shut doors to keep everyone contained in a general area for easy corralling.

🧡 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗼:
- During and after emergencies, pets might hide, act nervous, stop eating, or become defensive.
- Watch closely, listen to their communications, comfort them gently, and consult a vet if concerning behaviors persist.
