We had to say goodbye to sweet Lainey today. She had a stroke and although she was otherwise alert and eating well, did not feel she was going to improve back to her normal life. She lived a great life at just over 19 years old she took care of the clinic cat duties well starting with nursing abandoned kittens for us! Found by Hands Helping Paws, we gave her a great safe life off the streets of Norman. RIP sweet Lainey, you were a good one!

Did you know that Norman Animal Welfare offers a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program? Norman Animal Welfare offers free spays and neuters for feral, trapped cats. Cats will also be vaccinated and ear-tipped as part of the procedure. Cats must be trapped in the City of Norman and must be brought in by a Norman resident.

TNR is a safe, humane way to help control the outdoor cat population while improving the health and well-being of community cats. And we’re here to help make that happen.

TNR drop-off days:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday
⏰ 8:15 AM – 8:45 AM
All cats must be in a live trap and be picked up between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the same day as drop off. The cat must be returned to the same location where it was trapped within 24 hours.

If you’re caring for outdoor cats or noticing an increase in your area, this program is a great way to make a difference—for the cats and for our community.

🏡 Our SNIP Program is available to eligible Norman residents at no cost and includes spay/neuter surgery, a microchip, vaccines, and a pet ID tag. This program helps pets stay healthy, safe, and at home where they belong. It also helps reduce unwanted litters and supports a stronger community for animals and people alike.
