Today’s episode of hear your horse focuses on Bennie the five year-old Percheron Friesian Cross. This was his first time lunging at home and getting him familiar with the grounds. This is my first time working with him since bringing him home last Saturday, so always good to let them have a little time to settle in. I think he did fantastic! One thing I didn’t get to mention in the video is just how when lunging people will often comment that they struggle with lunging as a horse turns into face them, and that is often due to their body language and eyes being focused on their face or in front of the girth area. Instead, focus on pushing forward by looking at the hind end or just behind the girth if they are going the speed you are requesting.
