🐓Roosters: we cannot take in any more roosters at this time 🐓💔 — we already have four, and there are simply so many in need. That said, here are a few things that might help:

🏡 Town Rules — Are you certain roosters aren’t allowed in your town? Sometimes rules are more flexible than expected.

🐓 About Roosters — They’re often misunderstood! Roosters are natural protectors of hens 🐥: they sound predator alerts 👀, will defend the flock 🦺, break up squabbles ✋, and even help hens find food 🌱. Young roos can seem “aggressive,” but often it’s just hormones ⚡️—many calm down with time and become excellent flock members 💛.

📚 Resources & Rehoming — The group Rooster Allies is wonderful for education and support. For rehoming connections, you can try these Facebook groups:

You can also post in larger chicken-owner groups — just note that you’re seeking a pet-only home, and screen adopters carefully to be sure it’s the right fit. Sadly, about half of every hatch are roosters, and it’s heartbreaking how often they’re unwanted. Thank you so much for caring enough to seek safe options for yours. That compassion means everything. 💛

This isn’t their first time giving back: they have done this multiple times & continue to find ways to support our animals & their community. 🥹💕

🐟A Morning Full of Farm Fun! 🌿🐔🦎

Today campers enjoyed spending time with our pond fish, chickens, & beardies!

✨ 🐟 We observed our pond fish and learned how they communicate through their behavior.
🐔 We spent time with our chickens, learning how to approach them calmly and use gentle, respectful hands.
🦎We enjoyed quiet beardie snuggles while practicing patience and respecting animals’ boundaries.

💚 Every visit to the farm is about so much more than meeting animals. We’re building empathy, confidence, curiosity, and kindness: one animal at a time.
