NEWTOWN FRIENDS-Let's help find Fizzgig!

🚨 Fizzgig was LOST July 3, 2026 in Newtown, CT 06482 near Jeremiah Road.
Please spread the word for this lost cat by sharing this post.

💬 Owner's Message: "Please be on the lookout for these two beautiful girls: Fizzgig and Pagliacci. They are barn cats I just recently helped to relocate from Stamford, CT to Sandy Hook, CT (the Jeremiah Road area). They were picked up in Stamford on July 3 and by the morning of July 4, had managed to escape and run away.

They are quite feral, so they will run if chased. They can be coaxed with food and with kitten sounds if live or played over a phone or speaker.

The black and white is named Pagliacci (like the opera clown).
The brown tabby is named Fizzgig (like from The Dark Crystal movie). Both are female and sisters from the same litter.

Dear Friends, This is Coco. She's with our friends, Fur-Gotten Tails Animal Rescue. She's in terrible shape but they are committed to giving her every chance to recover from horrible neglect. I urge you to give a gift to enable this rescue to help this sweet cat. We will be offering a grant of funds towards her care, but it will not be anywhere near the thousands of dollars they need to raise ASAP. Info on how to give is in their post comments. Come on, Coco. You can do it! We love you!

Tonight, we just want to take a heartfelt moment to thank everyone for their support and donations for Coco before we share tonight’s update. She wouldn’t be still fighting to survive if it weren’t for you all. The amount of neglect this baby endured has been weighing on us all day long…💔

As for Coco’s update, here’s a new picture. We’ll start with the good. She’s been eating a tiny bit on her own, tolerating tube feedings fine, her blood pressure is holding well and she’s still getting up a little for very brief periods.

The not so good… She still can’t maintain her temperature, is still very weak and sleeping mostly, having diarrhea and her bloodwork hasn’t gotten better despite meds and aggressive fluids.

The reality: They aren’t sure they can get her well enough to leave the hospital. We were offered the option to let her go today or continue treatment and transfer her to internal medicine tomorrow.

It’s always such a hard call when they have little improvements but also not enough. It’s always hard when they tell us our current bill is at $5500 and potential to fully continue is $9k-11k. (We’ve raised about $4500 as of this evening).

What we decided: To see what internal medicine has to say tomorrow and take it day by day. They added in a B12 injection and iron injection as well as a dewormer and sent out a urine culture and blood smear.

All we know is she didn’t deserve this. To abandon a sweet cat like her is just unacceptable. We’ll be heartbroken if she doesn’t pull through but we’re thankful she’s at least comfortable and loved for these past few days.

Please keep supporting her if you can and share with all who loves animals. Let’s give her the best chance we can to get her more time and feel the love she deserves.

Dear Friends, Two nights ago I got a call from my neighbor. He discovered a badly injured opossum and needed help. Though our focus is on caring for cats, I jumped into action and within a few hours was lucky enough to find the one person who specializes in critical care for opossums. She named him, Johnny Boy, and has been at his side ever since. Johnny is not stable yet, but he's eating, got fluid therapy, and his wounds are dressed. I'll be going to see him this afternoon. I'll bring a donation of food and supplies since Johnny can have cat food! It's $5 Friday and this week I'd like to honor Stephanie's good work by asking all of you to consider lending a helping paw for a much-deserving rescue-friend.

Dear Friends, Twelve years ago we took a heavily pregnant cat named Mia into our rescue. Mia was at an apartment complex, living outside. The management threatened to poison her rather than get her help. Thankfully, our friend Warren trapped her and our amazing foster mom, Maria, cared for Mia and her 5 kittens until they were ready to travel to Connecticut to find their forever homes.

Mia was not well-socialized. We could not handle her. We tried fo find an adopter, but in the end she became our girl.

She slept with me every night. She was an incredible surrogate mom to our hundreds of foster kittens over the years. Mia was quiet but came out of her shell enough to play, "yodel" while holding a mousey toy in her mouth, and even let me sneak in a pet once in a while before she ran off. I loved Mia from afar. That's how things worked with us.

Two and a half years ago, Mia got lung cancer. We did surgery to remove the lung lobe and she recovered well. But the cancer came back a few months later in another lung lobe. Mia had been doing well, living a wonderful life, until I realized she had mouth pain and her beautiful grey fur was getting badly matted. The problem was, we couldn't take care of those issues because today Mia was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was considered high-risk to be sedated. There is more, but the bottom line is that after careful consideration and discussion with a few of our vets, we decided that Mia was in too much pain and we couldn't treat any of it, and that it was cruel to let her continue on this way.

Mia passed peacefully this afternoon, surrounded by love. It was a beautiful sendoff. I finally got to kiss and pet her, though it was to say farewell. I will miss this sweet girl so very much. Fly Free MiMi. xoxo

Sweet Dottie is still with us, still dreaming of her forever home. Her sister, Pom Pom was adopted many months ago, but now that Dottie is nearly 2-years old, her odds of being adopted have dropped.
