ACDC Rescue brings in strays, animals from owners and shelters in the Philadelphia region – locally! We take both healthy animals as well as at-risk or urgent animals at shelters that may have broken limbs or infections. Every animal undergoes an initial vet exam, Felv/FIV/HW testing (cats), receive microchips, age appropriate vaccinations and spay/neuter. Treatment for additional medical conditions is required for nearly 60% of our rescued animals, including many urgent or at risk animals.

She’ll gladly let you know when it’s mealtime and never says no to a tasty treat. Penelope is a lively, playful girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart! She loves to play and stay active, but is just as happy to settle in for some quality petting time — and when she’s happy, you’ll know it. This girl has a purr that fills the whole room.
Penelope is super friendly and loves people from the moment she meets them. She’s the kind of cat who makes herself right at home and always wants to be part of the action. Penelope is a certified purr machine. She would do best adopted alongside another young cat to share in her playful energy and keep each other company. If you’re looking for a friendly, loving companion with a little spark, Penelope is ready to find her forever home!

Adoption update for Lobelia. Lobelia was adopted on May 25, 2021.

“She's gotten more silly and playful over the past couple of years. When we first brought her home, she was scared of wand toys, especially Da Bird. But, now it's her absolute favorite (we play religiously about an hour a day). She's also very fond and protective of our daughter, although the natural loudness of teenagers sometimes perplexes her. Overall, she's happy as can be and continues to live her best life. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to become part of our family.”

Meet Skye! You’ll be smitten as soon as you catch a glimpse of her adorable, petite face, and her delightful personality will win you over completely. Skye is an active little one who enjoys climbing her cat tree, batting around her toys, and darting through tunnels.

You’ll often find her sister, Sunny, right by her side. The two love to playfully tumble around together until they’re worn out and ready for a cozy nap. Skye especially adores snuggling into a big, fluffy bed, often burying herself in it.

Meet Sunny! ☀️
This charming little lady is sure to brighten your day as she runs to greet you at the door, eager for some cuddles and kisses. Her joy is evident in her loud, happy purr!

Full of energy, Sunny zips up and down her cat tree and weaves in and out of her tunnel, often engaging in playful fetch with her toys. Her sister & BFF, Skye, is always by her side, and the two love to wrestle before settling down for a cozy nap together.

Opalite is a precious little cuddlebug who absolutely adores attention. If you sit down, she’s right there—ready to snuggle, purr, and soak up all the love you’ll give her. Being picked up is one of her favorite things, and she rewards you with the loudest, happiest purrs. When she’s not cuddling, Opalite is devoted to her most prized possession: her fuzzy mouse. She loves it so much that she guards it carefully and makes sure no other kitties get too close. Playtime is serious business for this girl! Opalite is the perfect mix of affectionate and playful, with a heart full of love and a toy she refuses to share. She will need to be adopted with a sibling or other young feline friend.
