I recently got in a disable baby raccoon and reached out to this crafting group that does items for rehabbers and rescues. I had seen some bonding pouches and reusable potty pads and was wondering if they maybe had some extras that I could purchase to help them out and also my baby (and me!)

What I got instead was an out pouring from several of the ladies in this group. I can only tag the group (CARA: Crafters & Artisans for Rescued Animals) and Lynn Turpin Gagnon but that does not mean that the work that Samantha, Carole and Judy put in was any less!

I received way more than I asked for and this will help out him and other wildlife babies that come into rehab. (This is not everything -- He has been using the first set of items for the past 4 days so they are in the washer!)

I will add pictures once we have vet and the animal taken care of. Right now - just a vent session!

It is NOT ok to take wildlife when you do NOT know what you are doing! They are not pets to be sold to the highest bidder! They need food, compassion and care!

They are wild animals and when you take them out of the wild and treat them poorly they will bite and scratch! Sometimes just because they are scared of you!

A 3 month old baby that should weigh around 4 pounds coming in that may weigh 2 pounds with injuries to bones and head is NOT ok!

I will make it my life's mission to go after people that want to take wild animals out of the wild and then abuse them when they turn out to be more than they can handle!

Not to mention it is also illegal in both Texas and Louisiana to have wildlife without a permit or license!

It’s baby season! If you find wildlife the best option is ALWAYS momma. However, if an animal is in distress or needs help there are signs. I will be posting some of those to help everyone out. Best thing if you need to contain - keep warm, dark and quiet. Contact a wildlife rehabber! You now have 3 for this area!!! I will be listing all of our local contacts on this page!
