Newry Lions News: The last meeting of the year was the highlight as students from Central High School put the finishing touches on the Disc Golf Course. They brought signage owing to hours of fundraising, organization and construction of their senior project. A spontaneous agreement was reached by Lions and Students to hold an official dedication and launch of the Disc Golf course with a tournament in the spring to be announced.

The Lions showed off stream improvements done by Trout Unlimited which made vital improvements to the stream bank in relation to the sewer main. This adds to the Leighty Nature Trail with beautiful scenery for hikers, dog walkers, and anglers alike. Poplar Run stream will again be stocked by our long term partners from the PA Fish and Game Commission.

Newry Lions Park will celebrate it's 67th year on January 27th 2026. See NewryLionsClub.com for banquet hall rentals. Building 2 opens April 15th.

JaeJae checks in to Leader Dogs for the Blind for training in Rochester Hills Michigan. This is the third puppy raised by Trish and Jason Radman of Lions District 14L. The Leader Dog program turns out 450 dogs per year, up from 300 due to high demand.

Our guide dog mobility instructors (GDMI) are committed to helping each of our dogs reach their potential and finding the best match for each client.

Newry Lions Bark In The Park will have Future Leader Dog JaeJae at 12 noon for a presentation on Saturday May 17. The event is open to the public.

Canines For Christ therapy dogs are coming to Newry Lions Bark In The Park on Saturday May 17. There will be a blessing of the dogs at 11:00 AM.

Canines for Christ are always looking for a few good therapy dogs to help with their mission from God! Lions Future Leader Dogs will be giving a presentation at 12 noon and Shadyrock School for dogs will have an educational program at 1:00 PM.

Admission is free. All dogs are welcome on a leash!

The Horseshoe Cloggers will once again perform at Newry Lions Bark In The Park on Saturday May 17 at the Newry Lions Park.

Clogging is a step dance which originates from the Appalachian region and is associated with the predecessor to bluegrass — "old-time" music, which is based on Irish and Scots-Irish fiddle tunes.

Clogging is the official state dance of Kentucky and North Carolina.

The cloggers practice at the Newry Lions Club and are always looking for new members at HorseshoeCloggers.com

There is a new movie out called "The Friend" featuring a Great Dane dog named Bing. At last year's Bark In The Park there was an attendee that looks exactly like Bing! He is pictured below Bing. Maybe we will see him again at this years Bark In The Park on Saturday May17 at the Newry Lions Park for agility demonstrations, vendors and fun for all. Admission is free!

Jason and his wife Trish will be at Newry Lions Bark In The Park on Saturday May 17 with Future Leader Dogs JaeJae and Mia to promote the Lions Leader Dog Program. All dogs are welcome on a leash. Admission is free.
