This is Hank, a very handsome Golden Retriever working towards being a therapy dog.

He has come so far and his mom has done an amazing job! I am so proud of them, but watching him take to the cart and back up with it today was incredible.

Keep up the amazing work .orchardhillfarm I can't wait for Hank to achieve your goals of therapy dog, and I hope I can keep teaching him more even after he passes his test!

Scentwork in public can be more difficult with all the new smells happening!

Seely has done really well learning to find bones outside, so we decided to take him indoors and let him try in public. He found the bone within 3 minutes!

In April of 2025 the Seppala Sled Dog or Seppala Siberian became the official state dog of Maine.

These are incredible working dogs directly from the line of sled dogs used by Leonhard Seppala during the 1925 Serum Run to save Nome, Alaska from a deadly outbreak of diphtheria.

In retirement the lead dog, Togo, came to live in Maine and live out his days making puppies and relaxing by the fire.

Fun Fact!

The Seppala Sled dog became the official state dog of Maine in April 2025. These are incredible working dogs from the line of sled dogs used in 1925 during the Serum Run, a deadly race to get life saving Diphtheria antitoxin to the city of Nome, Alaska.

The lead sled dog Togo retired here in Maine, and became part of a breeding line in Poland Springs.
