Hi Seaside Shih Tzu Cottage friends 🐾

I’ve been overwhelmed with inquiries about wanting to adopt a puppy from me, -messages and phone calls as recently as today.

Dolly has irregular cycles and I’m waiting for Mother Nature to cooperate. Being I have no idea when breeding her will occur I strongly recommend if your interested in a quality Shih Tzu you contact my friend Sras owner of Shih Tzu of NH who has been breeding longer then I have. Jaime and I share the same breeding ethics of breeding in-home, underfoot, kennel-free - from the heart ♥️🐾

We are home now. I already have an autoimmune disease and respiratory issues so got knocked down pretty hard with a virus; -high temp/fever/chills for 4+ days, plus respiratory infection etc etc (probably COVID) the remainder of the time; weak & run down unable to get out and about at all.

Jimmy caught the same thing for 3 days and was back up and out on day #4 enjoying exploring Italy.

The bad Karma didn’t get me down however ! I was still in beautiful Italy !! Being ill didn’t stop me from having the French doors opened in the morning so I could breathe the fresh sea air every day; and listen to the town come to life. I listened to the sounds of the beautiful church bells as they rang through the town periodically during the day (I can still hear them.. so peaceful !!)
Evenings the moon shined through the balcony window and I could hear wonderful Italian music playing at the different restaurants nearby as I enjoyed the cooler evening breeze.

I still don’t have my appetite back, -lost 8 lbs while there. I enjoyed what I could while there in Italy and have *no* regrets going. Plus I had my Zenyah by my side 🐾💜

I told my son that because of my health issues that I don’t think I should, nor could, travel anymore. His response? “Ma don’t ever stop moving”.

Zenyah’s Sorrento Italy Travels, 2024

Day #5 Highlights

Another beautiful day ! Unfortunately momma didn’t feel well today so she and I had a ‘girls day’ in.

In the evening she had reservations made 6 months ago to her favorite restaurant here, O'PARRUCCHIANO, where you dine in gardens and beautiful lemon groves. The ceiling is literally hundreds and hundreds of lemons hanging from trees ! While the pawrents were busy enjoying dinner I had to worry about one of these humongous lemons hanging over us and dropping on my head 😆 🍋 (pic below) Dinner was excellent ! -fried zucchini flowers, Roman artichoke, veal Marsala (I loved this!) veal Lemon sauce and fancy mixed Italian veggies. Pawrents went to a dessert cafe later after walking around a bit.

Momma did lots of pictures and after eating we walked around the restaurant gardens. Of course momma plopped me in a pile of flowers again to take a picture…. soooo embarrassing !
So many people wanted to hold me and take my picture with them which I love doing.

Zenyah’s Sorrento Italy Travels, 2024

Day #4 Highlights

How did we get to day #4 already ?! 😩

Again a beautiful day ! Walked down to the ocean side, pawrents wanted to check out the beach. Momma wanted to relax and have a drink while daddy and I checked it out. Momma would have to take an elevator down to the beach it’s such a steep walk. They charge $10 pp to use the elevator, $50 per person for the beach and I’m not allowed on the beach so we will pass on this. Momma got information to take the boat to Island of Capri and info to Almalfi Coast and will book that for next week.

We had fried seafood & Margherita pizza for lunch ocean side. The some seafood had eyes on it !!! Eyes staring back at me ! I was so cweeped out ! 😧 …. but of course I ate some once momma took the head off 😂

There was a beautiful bride and her groom that just got married outside a very old church. What a gorgeous place to get married ! -so romantical ♥️ Mom took a picture.

We went inside the old church, momma’s always amazed at the beautiful statues and marble. I behaved and didn’t bark at all 😊

The pawrents are planning next week’s trip to Capri & Almalfi Coast, trying to avoid the busy weekend.

Momma and I are in for the evening…we ordered dinner; we’re both tucker out and need our beauty sleep 💤 lol

Zenyah’s Sorrento Italy Travels, 2024

Day #3 Highlights

Another day of perfect weather ! Started with the arrival of our lost traveling suitcase 🧳 🙌🏼 The humans are happy they have their shoes/sandals, bathing suits and rest of their clothes plus momma’s pain meds.

We slept in late and headed out for a light lunch of a charcuterie board followed by yummy gelato ! I got some cheese then lots of licks of gelato. ☺️

We stopped and sniffed 👃🏼😂 in front a chocolate making shoppe that had a large chocolate fountain ! Mom and I can’t have chocolate so we didn’t go inside.

They have the largest lemons here you’d ever see here, almost as big as me ! Sorrento is most famous for their lemons. I got my picture taken with a regular size lemon and a ginormous one to show comparison. We walked around some more then the pawrents stopped for some drinks that they wouldn’t share with me while I had plain water ! 😕

We did more shopping then back to our room for a long siesta 💤
We headed out again at 9:00 for dinner at a restaurant called Mona Lisa ! Pawrents had shrimp cocktail served in a beautiful dish, different types of pasta they shared with me: Cannelloni and Pasta Alfredo with chicken; lattes and Tiramisu.

It’s so busy here late at night ! I did a lot of eating, walking and being carried around 😊 We saw a LOT of Dachshunds and French poodles today. I barked “hi” at every one we passed ☺️

Our first full day in Sorrento started out with an early phone call from Aer Lingus saying they found momma’s missing luggage ! It was left behind in Ireland and should be delivered here to the hotel by tomorrow ! Mom finally has a smile on her face 🙌🏼

Today it was beautiful weather. I got dressed and out we went !
We slept in and missed the hotel breakfast so went and had lattes and breakfast pastries; of course momma shared with me. We shopped around the marketplaces, bought a few things, had fresh made lemon ice served in a huge lemon ! Momma gave me some but it made my lips pucker from the tartness so I let her have it all 😂. I also met a cute little Italian doggie ! He waged his tail at me and I barked “hello” ! I wish I could have hung out with him but I had to stay with the pawrents 🙄

We then went back to our room for a siesta, -one of my favorite times snuggling up with momma. Later we went out to a nice restaurant for dinner. Fun Fact: people here really don’t go out to eat and start night life until after 7:00 pm. Mom’s a nocturnal person and fits right in.

It’s 12:00 pm here now, about 6:00 pm your time; we’re back at the hotel sitting on the balcony enjoying the evening breeze and people watching.

Zenyah’s Sorrento, Italy Travel 2024

Well vacation has started with the humans ☺️

A little rough start. Momma had all my legalized paperwork in order to travel 1) Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine of Ireland 2) USA Department of Agriculture 3) Vet Proof of Health Wellness to travel 4) Rabies 5) Proof of Microchip 6) Certificate for PSA and of course upon check in at Logan Aer Lingus in Boston were like deers in headlights 😐 Paperwork was needed for Ireland because we travel Aer Lingus and have a stopover in Dublin 🙄 , -Italy and USA is fine. -Go figure, I don’t even leave the airport in Ireland ! After a lot of nail biting, tapping fingers on counters and mom having a bit of ‘tude we finally boarded and were on our way 🙌🏼
Funny thing is ? Last year momma didn’t know we needed all this legal paperwork and only had proof of Vet Check, Rabies Vaccine, micro chip and Certificate for PSA and we passed right through. Yup, learning the “proper legal way” the government only messed things up this year.

So…momma played a game like “Where’s Waldo ?” with me on the plane but is was “Where’s Zenyah ?”…showing me on the live map where on the travel path I was 😁 lol (pic below).

When we finally made it to Naples we had setback #2 😭 Mom’s main large piece of luggage was lost ! - a LOT of new clothes 😭ALL mom’s new dresses & skirt, ALL the hoomans shoes, raincoats, evening sweaters, new bathing suits and coverups, dad’s new camera that was a Veteran Day gift from his employer ! -all mom’s PAIN MEDS… AND…MY DOG FOOD !! I think it was at this point momma got a BAD headache 🤕 Luckily all *my* dresses/clothes, bows, hair/body accessories are safe, mommma is smart enough to pack my things in a carry-on ☺️ lol

After filling out paperwork for lost luggage we went to find our limo driver and he had “my” name, “Zenyah” on the card to find us ! I felt so special ! -I did let momma and dad ride with me though 😊 lol

Sorrento is just so beautiful our first partial day here. We all took a verrrry much needed Siesta 💤 After we hit a grocery store to get me some dog food, drinks for the fridge, etc. and pizza from a nearby shop. Our room is nice and momma’s pleased we have a view of the ocean. Our room has a French Balcony and I loved watching people go by on the sidewalk. I even barked “hi” at a couple of dogs passing by but they didn’t answer me ?? -perhaps my American accent threw them off 😁🐾 lol

Going to rest… can’t wait for what tomorrow brings !
(hopefully momma’s missing luggage 🤣)

All packed up and ready at the airport for my new adventure: Italy again !! Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Island of Capri, Pompeii, Isle of Ithaca etc for 2 weeks !!

It was such a pleasure meeting George &@ Sarah Mott today to present their new baby girls ! Gracie Lu & Noelle (Scarlett ?) took right to Sarah as she was immediately kind and gentle with them. Picture below already shows them looking at their new mom with those loving Shih Tzu eyes as they do 💜 I had the pleasure to meet George as well ! -a super lovely family.

I’m told the Ferry ride was a success as they were relaxed and already playful in their new home.

News like this always warms my heart and makes it easier for me knowing they’re in their permanent, loving home.
My heart is content.

Gracie Lu and Noelle are so ready to meet you all and explore their new home. I hope you’re ready for lots of love & kisses as they have so much to give ! I’m going to miss them sooo much.

The girls are prepared for their ferry ride home with new hoodies to keep them warm plus harnesses to go in their new carrier with blanket
