Make your donation have double the life-saving impact now through Tuesday. A wonderful donor is matching every dollar donated, up to $2,000. Walking Wild has welcomed four new foxes in the past week, which has cost us close to $1,200 in unplanned expenses. This is in addition to the daily expenses to keep Walking Wild running and our animals cared for. It costs us an average of $8,000 a month in routine expenses to provide our animals with the best home. Did you know that every dollar we need to save lives, comes from individuals just like you? Without your help, lives like this sweet little abandoned girl would be lost.

Is he 100% volunteer run organization, every dollar you donate goes directly to caring for the animals and is tax deductible. Thank you so much for choosing to support our live-saving mission!

This sweet little girl was abandoned and seeking help. She is not a wild fox and has no more business being in the wild than a Labrador. Thankfully this little girl sought help from a gentleman who recognized that she wasn't meant to be there. After calling his wife and his wife reaching out to us in the early morning hours she ventured over to her husband's work, picked up the little girl that had gotten and her husband's car and later that morning brought her to her forever home here with us at Walking Wild.

We welcomed a new little emergency intake today. Every intake that comes to us gets an initial exam and we want to welcome you into that process.

This sweet little girl was abandoned and was lucky enough to seek help from a wonderful gentleman whose wife and daughter drove to his work at 2:00 in the morning to get this little girl loaded up and then drove her to us this morning.

This is one of five calls that we've gotten in the past 24 hours about foxes needing help. Some emergency situations similar to this one and others families looking for new homes for their foxes that they're no longer able to care for. Every fox that we welcome brings an additional $300 to $400 expense within the first 24 to 48 hours. With the number of emergency and Non-Emergency requests we've gotten in the past day we are looking to spend an additional $1500 plus more then we intended on spending this week. We could really use your support to help with this cost. If you would like to donate you can click the link to visit our donate page or take part in our special limited edition t-shirt fundraiser. The only way we are able to help and save lives like this one is with your support. We do not receive any government funding or subsidies so we totally rely on individuals supporting our mission to be able to continue caring for and saving lives here at our sanctuary.

This sweet little girl also needs sponsors. If you'd like to know more about that please send us a DM.

Walking Wild is the largest forever sanctuary for captive bred fox in the US providing a forever home to 178 foxes as well as 19 other non-wild friends including skunks, coyotes and wolf dogs. We may be the largest sanctuary for non-wild fox, but we operate with a very modest budget and an entirely volunteer run team, even our owner is an unpaid volunteer. We do a lot with the every dollar donated to our organzation and value every penny. Over the past few years we have had to finance some of our emergency expansions to ensure that lives were not lost. We have always prided ourselves in working debt free and would like to return to that. Over the past three years we have had to finance just over$30,000 to save 32 lives in emergency situations. Why did we have to finance these? Because fundraisers didn't meet needed goals and the animals couldn't wait any longer.

To date, we still owe just over $16,000. We need to get that number to zero. That will free up extra monthly funds that are currently going to paying this debt off, allow us to save more lives, remove a looming weight and return us to a debt free organization. We are asking for you to take an extra minute, click the link and donate. I know this seems like a large number, but if 1/30 of our followers donated $5 we would pass our goal!

Every dollar helps and we are so greatful to everyone the chooses to support this hugely important fundraiser!

In March of 2020 Walking Wild opened our doors with the arrival of six very special little lives. We were months away from intending to open, however we were asked if we could move our timeline up and take part in a 30 fox rescue mission alongside a handful of other rescues across the country. We said yes and Walking Wild began.

We realize not everyone knows the story or faces of our six Walking Wild OG’s. Over the next few days, we will be sharing their adorable faces and stories with all of you.

Our first two OG’s we want to introduce are Buzz and Woody. Buzz and Woody began their life on a fur farm destined to be killed for their fur. After the fur farmer passed away, they went from one house of horrors to another. A person connected to the fur farmer took in the foxes that were still living. Not prepared for caring for 30 foxes, they stacked all the foxes in small filthy cages, in a dark room where they lived in piles of f***s and urine. It is hard to think that anything can be worse than a fur farm, but these conditions were. Buzz and Woody had urine burns on their feet and chewed ears from being stacked and getting their ears chewed on by the foxes above and beside them. They had never felt solid ground, had a toy, a companion to snuggle with or room to play. March 26, 2020 Buzz and Woody finally escaped their life of horrors and found their forever home here at Walking Wild. These two special boys have come so far. They defied the odds and have been living a life of love, respect and fun. I sometimes wonder if they remember where they came from, I hope they don’t and that they only remember the last six years of freedom. It is hard to believe that Buzz is now a senior and estimated to be Nine years old and Woody is seven. These two best friends have inspired and motivated me for six years and I pray they will continue to do so for six plus more! We love you Buzz and Woody!

Ham the window washer!

I had to close Ham in the bedroom for a few minutes so that I could finish up a project in the kitchen that he wanted to be a little bit too much a part of. He decided that he would protest by trying to lick the windows off the door 😂 Ham has a giant personality!

You might be thinking this can't be Ham, he doesn't look like the fox in the crazy happy video outside. That's because Ham is all the way in his summer coat now. Ham is a color of an Arctic fox called a shadow a
Arctic. This is a man-made color of an arctic fox. Arctic foxes are the only canine that get an entirely new coat when they transition seasons. Every piece of fur on Hammy right now was grown in just for the summer and he will lose every piece of fur on him and grow an entirely new coat for the winter.
