Yesterday was a lot, and regardless of all the setbacks we had throughout the day, we got most of the limestone set out so the water will stop coming into the barn.

What didn’t go according to plan:
-the limestone ended up getting delivered later in the morning then anticipated
-our small tractor got stuck
-our big tractor blew out a tire
-two of our residents very sneakily got out while we were picking up gutters (they're okay)

What mattered in the end:
-Dom being able to catch the residents who escaped
-Beth bringing watermelons and helping hand shovel limestone
-Mandy calling around to find us equipment to use so we didn’t have to spend all night hand shovel, and maneuvering gates and feedings
-Ryan for spending his evening helping a perfect stranger in a desperate situation by bringing a mini skidsteer and having all the patience in the world.

This morning Mandy and I will be finishing up gutters and this is the most I've felt prepared for storms!

I truly can't thank everyone enough, I'm so blown away by everyones generosity and just how much you all care about our sanctuary.

There's still lots more to do but for now we're feeling good about riding out the storm! We hope everyone stays safe!

We have ag lime and volunteers coming tomorrow!!!! 🎉

To say I'm grateful is such an understatement.

Pumba hurt his hoof this morning because the mud and muck is just so thick and intense, and with the storms coming again on Wednesday, we needed to get this done now.

We're doing this part by hand, but will still need to use a skidsteer eventually (soon) the grade the ground right outside their stall.

Once we get this part done, we'll update everyone on a very special suprise we've been working on for a couple of weeks 👀 if you're on our patreon you already know ♥️

It's a long video but I just don't have the energy to make this a pretty post, so here's a raw, uncut update on the barn flooding, and addressing some of the suggestions given to us.
