Canine Angels Service Dogs

Canine Angels Service Dogs Canine Angels Service Dogs trains rescued dogs to become certified service dogs to assist disabled vets, children, & first responders in SC/NC. Thanks!

Since 2011, our nonprofit began rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters to train for veterans and first responders in the Coastal Carolinas. Our certified service dogs assist the heroes to whom we owe our freedom and safety. Our Angels perform tasks to mitigate physical challenges and ease psychological suffering to help veterans resume meaningful lives. PTSD has claimed a higher number of veterans

than has combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Your donations help us train more dogs to serve more vets who return with physical and mental disabilities. Every dollar counts. If you'd like to help, please go to our website a to support this important cause. When we extended our services to families with children who are autistic, the response was overwhelming. Our Canine Angels can lessen the frequency and duration of meltdowns. They comfort the child before the behavior escalates. They can also entertain a child for hours and make sure they don't wander off, which eases the family's worries. http://www.CanineAngelssUSA.org/donate

Here is Sunny having been trained to heel to the bike with no leash. The keys to this are staying at the left, NEVER going in front of the tire, and stopping immediately when the bike stops. Sunny gets an A+!

Here is Chapstick learning patience with the "WAIT" command. Wait means it is going to happen, but not until you get permission. Good boy!

Thanks once again to Rev. & Mrs. Kirk Lawton for inviting the Angels to participate in Sunday's Memorial Day service at Ocean Lakes Campground. Mollie could not see the pulpit from the floor so she switched to the chair to hear Rev. Kirk's wonderful sermon.

Many of you remember our special service dog Harper, who has been helping a minor young man dig out of a deep hole in his life. Fantastic news - he has passed his GED tests, and is now a responsible, respectful, and industrious fellow, owed in great part to his relationship with his beautiful and loyal service dog. In fact, he just graduated from the Myrtle Beach Junior Fire Department. Lesson learned - it is never too late to turn things around. We congratulate him and Harper.

Our Story

Canine Angels Service Dogs is a nonprofit dedicated to serving disabled veterans and first responders in the coastal Carolina region. We rescue dogs from shelters and train them to become certified service dogs to assist those to whom we owe our freedom and safety. Our Angels perform tasks to mitigate physical challenges and ease psychological suffering to help veterans resume meaningful lives. PTSD has taken the lives of twice as many veterans who have returned home than have died in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Your donations help us train more dogs to serve more vets who return with physical and mental disabilities. Every dollar counts.
