Hi everyone,

Due to a progression in our friend's mother's Alzheimer’s disease, she is no longer able to care for her two beloved dogs. They are a bonded pair, and they are hoping to find them a loving home together.

If you or someone you know might be interested, we can connect you. These sweet girls are incredibly kind and gentle, great with people—including children—and fully housebroken. They are both spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, have no medical issues and have had social playdates (dog friendly).

They do best in a home with some space to run around, but are otherwise low-maintenance and very loving.

Hello everyone! Given the most recent events, Pumkin Paws will no longer be able to provide walks & cat care for the foreseeable future. In addition to us doing our part in containing the virus, many buildings throughout Riverdale have restricted access to only allow residents. Early on Friday, there was an article in the NY Times that listed 'Pet Care' as an essential service, however it was later modified to only include 'Animal Shelters.' Our daycare may remain open for limited hours (this is still TBD), so if you have a friendly pup and would like for them to get some energy out, please send us an email. This is incredibly sad & surreal to write since we have been providing care everyday (365 days/year) since December of 2011. We hope that everyone stays vigilant & safe: The faster we can slow the spread of the virus, the faster we can get back to normal. We will keep you posted as soon as we are cleared to resume operations. Our staff will miss all of your pups & kitties and hopefully will see them again soon. :)

Hello everyone! For those who don't know, an extremely valuable part of our team (Mary) is also the EVP for a rescue organization based in Mt. Vernon. Mary is responsible for saving an adorable min pin named Junior & we are asking for your help!:

Junior is a 20 month old, male min pin who was purchased by a family from a pet store when he only a couple of months old. Soon after he was purchased, Junior's right hip was fractured and not repaired immediately. Junior, 6 lbs, lived most of his time outside in the backyard, in all kinds of weather, with a fractured hip. The vet confirmed, he was in a lot of pain all along.

Thankfully, the family agreed to surrender Junior, and we immediately picked him up and he is now living in a loving home. Junior was covered in ticks and fleas, probably from being outside, he was brought to Petchester for a thorough examination and bloodwork. With the help and support of Cat Assistance Rescue (http://www.catassistanceny.org/) Junior underwent hip surgery and is doing well. His injury and not being cared for immediately has caused a lifetime of limping. After 12 weeks of recovery and therapy, Junior is doing better and continues to heal.

Please help us help Cat Assistance In supporting Junior's medical cost. No amount is too small and you will be helping this little guy feel better and live the way he should.
