Upon completion of her internship, she achieved the highest standards of emergency and critical care by completing a residency at one of the founding emergency critical care facilities in the world: The Animal Emergency Center (WI). It was here that she acquired intense training in multiple areas beyond emergency and critical care. Fortunate areas of ample exposure and knowledge, include but are not limited to: abdominal surgery, soft tissue surgery, abdominal and thoracic ultrasound, endoscopy, internal medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, avian and exotic medicine, and dentistry. Our hospital dog, Bob, gave us all a bit of a scare today at the end of the day. He became quite sick and had vomited up numerous times and was very lethargic. If you guys knew Bob, you would know that him allowing a full examination without trying to bite you is a SURE fire way to tell he was feeling HORRIBLE. He likes to eat things he shouldn't and while we did not have anything we could think of that he could eat, we weren't sure if he had an obstruction in his intestines.

Wanna know something cool?!

CT scans can be used for sooooo much more than you think!

CT scans can help diagnose if there is an obstruction in the intestines. Thankfully our little Bob did not need emergency surgery. We are hoping he feels better with supportive care and lots of tummy beds.

Please keep your fingers crossed for Bob that he is back to his spunky self tomorrow!

Working with has been very rewarding as a veterinarian!

There organization allows a certain amount of money/grant given to a veterinary clinic to do with it what it chooses with regards to which cases to help. While there is a financial limit for their organization per vet clinic, since our clinic already focuses on providing affordable critical care, we are able to take on more critical cases for a LOT less money.

Many veterinary clinics would not be able to help a case like Faila because the cost of treatment would far exceed the grant allowance per year.

We were contacted on Tuesday about a dog in need and if we could help. We offered to help right away but the owners could not reach our hospital in time before we were to close. Unfortunately for this little girls case, that made things MUCH more critical for her when she arrived the next morning. And.....to make things even WORSE these poor owners were in a car accident in route to driving to us.

Thankfully Faila was not injured but she arrived in critical/unstable condition with her pyometra.

A pyometra is a severe uterine infection. It is a high risk for dogs that are not spayed, especially the older they get. They can go into organ failure and worse.....not survive. Her breed made anesthesia more risky for her but she did great in surgery.

We is on tons of meds to help her and will need to stay a few more days due to her degree of sepsis and complications from that.

Cases like hers happen all the time and not every owner is lucky enough to get into NY Save but for those who do....it can be life changing.

Please consider donating to so that more pets like her can be saved by vet clinics like ours!

This is a long over due post but we had to wait for her glow up before posting!

Meet Atria! (The reason for her name is obvious!)

This emaciated soul was found in a ditch in the Bronx. The wonderful people who found her actually thought she was a puppy and a boy because of her small size and multiple mats covering her entire body. Her nails were severely overgrown.

She arrived with a pretty severe corneal ulcer which has now healed. She had cataracts in both eyes causing blindness. She has a horrid heart murmur on both sides (hence her name!). She has two rotten molars left that we are likely not going to be able to remove due to her heart condition degree. We've started her on heart meds and she seems to have gotten some extra energy since this time, and with energy, there is one thing this likely 15+ year old mutt has tons of........words. She has a lot to say.

She is the epitome of a crotchity old bat! She wants attention and being spoken to but does not want to be pet.

She is very well potty trained in the sense that she does not like to be in a cage with her own mess.

We are looking for a FOSPICE situation for this little fire cracker! We will provide her needed heart medications and arthritis meds but as a non financially supported rescue we can't afford more than this.

If interested in giving this lady in her golden years some golden vibes we would love that!

Many MANY thanks to the patience and gentle touch for grooming this frail sensitive lady!

for FREE. Worth over $200. I fell victim to a colleague sponsored ad for this and thought it would be great for Baci, my current dog in hospice, but the ramp was too steep and not enough grip, so he kept slipping This ramp needs modification for elderly dogs with MUCH better traction than it has. Would be great for smaller, more active dog....but then again, that would mean they could likely just jump up to the normal seat level.

Its literally never been used since my dog couldn't make it up half the ramp. 🫠

Pick up only!

Thank you!

We get requests ALL the time for international travel! Unfortunately, I am not USDA certified (nor do I ever want to be!!! That stuff is a HUGE pain in the 🫏!).

Good news (and thank you to an amazing long term client that moved across the world) there IS a better option out there than struggling to find a USDA vet that fits in your budget.

Check out ! They do all the paperwork for you and work WITH your vet so you don't have to do a ton of extra exams and stressful travel for your pet just to jump through all the necessary international travel hoops!

THIS is MAJOR! We now have a test that may predict the development of kidney disease in cats!

It is a simple cheek swab test that only costs $100 and may provide life changing information for your cat!

Kidney disease affects up to 50% of cats over the age of 10 so being able to change things in their diet and avoidance of certain kidney/really excreted drugs can help lessen that work load.

We LOVE the world of vet med we get to practice on in this day and age!

Better medicine! Better behavioral and emotional support! Better surgery! And now better testing to help them live longer and healthier!!

Did you know that Dr Loose used to play division II basketball and made it to regional twice in college? Did you know she was 19th in the national for 3 point % back then?

Crazy right?!?

Basketball has always been a stress reliever and even when getting older there is still a tremendous amount of joy found while watching the ! You all should go support your local women's WNBA! They are the best atmosphere in the league. Seriously! So much so that when Dr Loose had an extra ticket they reached out to Shawn with (part of the rescue mafia as we like to call it!) and had a blast!

Truly an amazing night and, of course, another Liberty WIN!

Seeing and smiling and having fun is always fantastic! lit it up!! Just LOVE this team.

This post is not veterinary related, obviously....but just goes to show that the veterinary team is human just like our clients! With life outside of work. Or at least we hope so!!

Tuesday July 22nd Dr Loose will be leaving the office early at 5 pm!!!!

The rest of the team will be in office until normal closure at 6 pm. Thank you!

Also....this is Bob. He used to be and was loved and cared for for 3 years before having to be returned for severe behavioral issues (which I have now personally witnessed for him). He is a super sweet boy that wants attention 10000% on his terms and once he loves something (including people) he is a severe resource guarder to the degree of having multiple bites in his history now. I am working on him and adjusting meds and such as much as I can before making any severe decisions.

Send positive thoughts we can help this guy feel less possessive!

Thank you!

House calls hit different with some of your favorite clients. Last year we drove up to CT to see them and we will continue to do so. This year we got to enjoy the pool and amazing buffet of food. I feel bad I couldn't make the trip to help them say goodbye to the amazing Zlatan. As long as I am able I will continue to do this house call. Amazing clients leave marks on you. Kinda like paw prints, they last forever. Thank you to Jarlin and her mini me for tagging along in case tech support was needed!
