Holiday Reminder: Keep Pets Safe from Holiday Foods!
While it’s tempting to share holiday treats with your furry friends, many human foods can be harmful to dogs and cats. Here’s why:
• Toxic Foods: Foods like chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, and those sweetened with xylitol can be toxic and even life-threatening.
• Fatty Foods: Rich, fatty foods like turkey skin, gravy, and butter can cause pancreatitis, a painful and potentially fatal condition.
• Bones: Cooked bones can splinter and cause choking or internal injuries.
• Alcohol and Caffeine: Both are toxic to pets and can lead to severe health issues.
Stick to Their Regular Food
Pets thrive on a balanced diet designed for their needs. Sudden changes or table scraps can upset their digestive systems, leading to vomiting, diarrhea, or worse. Keeping them on their regular food ensures their health and happiness through the holidays.
Thank you for helping us keep your pets safe and healthy! Have a joyful holiday season!
