Hi! My name is Bear, and I really need a place to stay while my foster mom goes on a trip! I am playful and affectionate, and it takes me almost no time at all to warm up to new people! A few of my favorite things are chin scratches, my bird toy, and making biscuits! 🥰

Happy Friday from White Socks! 🥰

This adorable tuxedo boy is approximately two years old and has been waiting for his forever home for quite a while! He loves to bask in the sun or cuddle up on his favorite blanket (see below!). He is very patient with children, but kind of freaked out by cat toys! 🤔

White Socks can by shy around new people, but will quickly warm up once he determines his favorite one and will jump into their lap for cuddles! White Socks is FIV+, but is doing well and can live happily with other gentle cats, so don’t let that deter you! 🐱

For those that follow multiple rescues, you are probably aware that we are all really struggling 😞 We receive many pleas each day, but have been forced to turn them down as we simply do not have a place for the cats to go. Our rescue center is bursting at the seams, and adoptions have been few and far between, so even our foster homes are full. If you have ever considered fostering, now is really the time! These cats need you 🙏🏼

Siblings Mojito and Mimosa are 14-week-old siblings who we hope can find a foster home together. Both are very sweet, playful, and fun! 🥰

This majestic beauty is about four years old and came into rescue after living her life in a grocery store in Queens. The owner of the store brought in another cat that didn’t get along with her, and she ended up spending her time out on the street instead until she was rescued 😔

Now Tina spends her time at our rescue center in LIC just waiting for her turn to go home. She is an absolute sweetheart and just needs a family to call her own! 🥰

Adoptable Diavolo is now almost a year old and has been waiting for his forever home since he was only 8 weeks old! All of his siblings have long been adopted, but still he waits and wonders what he can do to be noticed 😔

Diavolo spent most of his life at our rescue center in LIC where he was constantly overlooked, perhaps because he had been a bit skittish. However, he just went to a foster home a week ago, and LOOK AT HIM NOW! 🥰

Diavolo really loves being pet and is sweet, loving, and affectionate! He is truly loving being in a home and is so deserving of a forever home! 🏡

Second Chance Rescue NYC’s mission is to reduce animal overpopulation in shelters, rescue and rehabilitate critically injured and neglected animals, and connect the community to services that enable animals to remain in their homes. Utilizing an integrated approach to rescue and recovery, we leverage all possible paths to healing according to each pet’s specific needs and do our best every day to raise awareness surrounding animal equality, adoption education, and animal rights and welfare. We are just ordinary people taking extraordinary measures to save these treasured pets and in return, having our lives forever changed by each and every one of these amazing animals.
