Driver for Far Fetched Acres
About Us: Far Fetched Acres is a premier country dog camp dedicated exclusively to serving New York City dogs. We pride ourselves on our high standards of care and exceptional service. Our clients deserve the best, and we are committed to delivering just that!
Position: We are seeking a highly reliable, competent, and customer service-oriented driver to join our team. As a driver, you will be responsible for transporting multiple dogs to and from New York City on Mondays and Thursdays. This role offers the potential for a full-time position to the right candidate, which includes custom drives outside the regular schedule, as well as floor and administrative duties.
Location: Far Fetched Acres is located in Chatham, New York, conveniently situated off the parkway. On Mondays and Thursday mornings, our vans depart from Far Fetched Acres, head to New York City to drop off departing pups, and pick up arriving pups via a pre-planned route. This position emphasizes customer service and dog handling.
Responsibilities:
Transport dogs between Chatham, NY, and New York City on Mondays and Thursdays.
Provide exceptional customer service to our clients.
Ensure the safety and comfort of the dogs during transport.
Maintain a clean and sanitary transportation environment.
Requirements:
Clean and excellent driving record.
Comfortable driving a Mercedes Sprinter Van with precious cargo.
Familiarity with navigating city streets.
Strong customer relations and communication skills.
Excellent time management.
Physically fit and able to lift 50lbs.
Easily reachable via email or cellphone (must have a smartphone).
Willingness to work hard in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable and happy around dogs, with a commitment to their proper handling.
Ability to maintain a safe and sanitary transportation environment.
Commitment to learning and applying force-free, R+ behavior handling methods for the dogs in our care (training provided on-site).
