When 9/11 happened it was a tragedy but that tragedy unified us all as one. We stuck together to better our country, our world and our humanity. Yesterday and within the last year we have been struck with multiple tragedies. We strongly hope that this hatred ends and these recent tragedies don’t cause more separation, anger and hatred within our communities. In the aftermath of September 11th we unified; now’s the time we need to come together again.

The last living survivor from ground zero was rescued by a FEMA search and rescue dog, 27 hours after the collapse. Animals so selflessly rescue us in many ways. They teach us to be courageous and love others in some cases more than we love ourselves. ❤️🤍💙

We ask that in the times we’re going through today that we don’t let our personal beliefs cloud our judgement or bring hate, separate others and end lives. 🩵☮️

𝗔 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸, 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮. 🌈🐾

This has been the longest, hardest week.

One week ago, I held my sweet Charlie in my arms as he took his final breath. One week since I last heard his little meow. ♥️ My heart has ached every single day. But there is a small comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his human mom, who he has missed so deeply since she passed in July. Heaven has welcomed back two beautiful, inseparable souls. Together again. 🌟

And in the midst of that grief, another heartbreak unfolded. 😔

On Monday, a pregnant five-month-old kitten named Queenie—just a baby herself—finally felt enough trust and comfort to give birth. She had a litter of six tiny lives. Three were born stillborn, and three were left fighting for their lives. 🍼

In shock and exhausted, Queenie couldn't nurse them. With the help of Shadow, and around-the-clock care with kitten formula, we fought alongside them. For five days, these tiny angels fought so hard. 💔

On Friday night, the last and strongest of the three took his final breath in my arms as I was trying to bottle-feed him. I sat there, utterly shattered, crying for all six of these babies who never got the chance they deserved.

My heart is heavy with the loss of seven beautiful souls this week: Charlie, and Queenie's six angels.

This immense pain is a stark reminder of why I am begging you all: 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀. 🚨

It is not just a suggestion; it is an act of 🅛🅞🅥🅔 and 𝙧𝒆𝙨𝒑𝙤𝒏𝙨𝒊𝙗𝒊𝙡𝒊𝙩𝒚. It prevents unimaginable suffering, heartbreaking losses, and the overwhelming burden on rescue animals and their caregivers. These seven lives could have had a different path.

Rest in peace, Charlie. ♥️ Look after each other. Rest in peace, little ones. You were so, so loved. 🌈
