We currently have two incredible girls in our care who need your support to get the medical treatment they deserve.
First up is Roxie, our loving Texas mama, who was sadly diagnosed with heartworm in March. It took multiple vet visits, tests, and even a blood sample sent to a lab’s research department to finally confirm the diagnosis.
She’s completed 30 days of pre-treatment medication, which unfortunately left her feeling pretty miserable — vomiting, poor appetite, and constant coughing. Thankfully, after a month of rest in May, Roxie is starting to feel more like herself.
Her first heartworm injection is scheduled for June 2, followed by a clinic stay for monitoring and strict crate rest. Her final two injections will be administered around June 30 and July 1. Heartworm treatment is incredibly tough on dogs and costly for rescues — we’re currently estimating $3,000 for her full course of care.
If you can donate toward her treatment, Roxie and her foster family would be beyond grateful. ❤️
Next is Cordelia, our newest PMAR pup who came to us from Queens Animal Care & Control. This sweet young Cane Corso was found as a stray. While we don’t know her full backstory, it’s likely she was abandoned due to her visible cherry eye — a painful condition where the gland in her third eyelid protrudes unnaturally.
Despite this, she’s gentle, a bit underweight, and full of love. Once she has corrective surgery and recovers, she’ll be ready for her forever family.
As a small nonprofit rescue, we rely entirely on donations to save and care for dogs like Roxie and Cordelia. We understand times are tough — but every dollar helps.
