This week, we are honoring and celebrating our amazing client service representatives for Veterinary Receptionist Week 🥳

At VEC, we have a dedicated team of client service professionals who help to provide an excellent experience for our clients and patients. As the first person you speak to on the phone, to the last person you see as you leave (and so much in between), they play a crucial role in our daily operations.

Thank you to all of the incredible client service representatives everywhere, you are very much appreciated!

Get to know the VEC team! 👀

Frankie is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who joined VEC in August 2025. She was born in Louisiana but grew up in Manhattan and currently lives in New Jersey. She graduated from Elmira College with a degree in Psychology, before completing the veterinary technology program at SUNY Delhi.

She was initially interested in equine rehabilitation for race horses, but decided anesthesia was more her calling. Frankie has been a technician for 11 years and has worked in multiple veterinary hospitals focusing on anesthesia and surgery.

Outside of work Frankie enjoys playing volleyball and video games, as well as spending time with her husband and 3 year old son. Her favorite breed of dogs is Boston Terriers, so of course she has one at home, named Cooper, along with two tuxedo cats, Oreo and Brooklyn!

We recently celebrated the 5️⃣ year anniversary of VEC! 🎂

Since 2021, VEC has grown to a network of 4 clinics and 8 doctors with one core mission: provide expert eye care for pets in a high-quality environment, paired with exceptional client care.

From Manhattan and Long Island City, to Newton, MA, and Greenwich, CT, we have treated over 20,000 pets. We love being a part of these communities, especially when partnering with our referring vets.

This past year, we launched in Greenwich, CT, with plans this upcoming year to open VEC PA in Newtown Square, PA, and an additional NYC location in Park Slope, Brooklyn!

From NYC to New England and Pennsylvania, we are committed to providing the best pet eye care. Here’s to another great year ahead! 🎉

We’re excited to share that Veterinary Eye Center is expanding, with our new Park Slope location officially opening on May 27.

Our new Brooklyn location reflects our continued commitment to making specialized veterinary ophthalmology care more convenient and accessible for pets and their families throughout the borough.

We’re also pleased to share that Dr. Steve Hanes of our Long Island City location will be transitioning to Brooklyn and serving as Medical Director of our new Park Slope location.

We look forward to welcoming patients in Park Slope soon!

Brittany moved to New York City in 2017 and her first job here was at a veterinary compounding pharmacy. She eventually transitioned back to the clinic in general practice, before joining VEC. She also has experience working at pet day cares and as a dog walker.

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys thrift shopping and exploring new places in the city, especially museums and parks. She’s a big fan of Star Wars and all things spooky. She loves to spend time with Joey, her Toy Poodle, and her cat, Gingerbread!
