Smile! Virginia temperatures may have us in a tizzy right now 😳 but its time to start practicing our skills in public. Featured here is puppy Bailey practicing the first steps of public access at to hopefully become a certified therapy dog. So far, she is rocking it! We started off slowly and began to increase stimulation over time. She has beautiful foundation skills and are now bridging the gap of those skills from home life to public life. So proud of this team. 👏

Its about time for a change..

USDA standards haven’t been updated since the 1960s.. Did you know that dogs only need to have 6inches of extra space around their bodies in order to live in a cage that size for their entire lives? Or that there are no age limits, which allows for the breeding of geriatric dogs? It is also legal to powerwash kennels with dogs inside…

While we know that not every breeder keeps their dogs in these conditions, the fact that the law allows that to happen at all is horrifying. We need the USDA and state agencies to step up and put in meaningful standards that will protect dogs who exist in the commercial breeding system.

Frankie loves "training the dogs" and coming up with new games. Tonight she came up with "muzzle nuzzle". Im definitely using this term moving forward!
