This was a staged exercise to purposely throw Sponge_A_Mastiff off. We hung junk on a cabinet door and made him walk around and threw obstacles. The main goal was to send the dog to the door ahead of me, for my protection. He was called back, when the fake threat was over

It’s very important to teach your new pup/dog, to sit/stay.

Here's my life's example
When I was in my early 20's, I got into an accident, that required me being seen by my hometown Dr. On the way to my doctor's office, I saw my dog running in a field. I yelled out, MICHAEL, SIT STAY. I was able to see his hindquarters drop to the ground in a kind of skidding effect, as I was being driven past him to be seen by my doctor. When I got home, my brother told me he found Michael in Grammy Pettengill's yard, sitting. I was beaming with pride for Michael.
At the time, Michael was a new to me, adult show dog, with 3 points already achieved to start his show career. I didn't have him a month before the accident where I got hit by a car, and driven through my parents outside kennel for emergency housing for family and friend's dogs. With the building and fence destroyed in the accident, our new dogs took off, in fear of their lives. I was the only animal actually injured, thank God,
and that's the time we found out that Smith baby #2 was on her way!

I'm very happy that I continued with Michael's obedience training.

Every day, is a day to continue enforcing the basic commands.
My mastiff was in training from 8 weeks to almost 10 years. The only time the mastiff ever broke from my command, was when he was rescuing a kid, and everyone on the street that saw, was amazed how the dog handled and took charge of the situation. A mastiff will take a hit, no problem, to protect a kid, if need be.

After your 3 to ten day bonding with your new dog, continue to teach your dog commands, and continue to build a good canine good citizen, socialize with other humans, and pets of a variety of species if possible. It’s important to have a friendly, good pet, that someone will enjoy helping out with caring for it, because if the unexpected happens, your hospitalized or taking care of a loved one for an extended period of time, your baby will adjust wonderfully with the temporary family change.

For best results taking on one dog/pup at a time to build your personal bonds, is most effective.

The 3-10 day exclusive bonding workshop you create, will work with young pups and older rehomed dogs.
An important rule, is they can't cross the threshold when I'm using the bathroom.

How far away does yours run ahead when off leash, 4ft or 800+ft.
Have you ever hooked up a video recording device to your dogs collar, to later see how the sneaky one eats up your bird seeds that fell to the ground (sorry to inform you, that's birdcrap the pup is hunting).
And how instinctive, when you're not feeling well, what extra adorable thing does your TeddyBear pup do, to comfort you in those times?

One of my favorite pups. Cathrine lives in New York, a daughter gifted her to her mom. Oh I wanted to keep this one. Cathrine was the perfect puppy trainer when we went outside without leashes.
