These precious little babies didnt get to start the new year in a warm and loving home. They spent the day inside a dark kennel watching people pass them by all day 😞.

With his luxurious lilac point coat and soulful eyes, Homey turns heads everywhere he goes - but it's his gentle spirit that truly shines.

Homey was born in Russia and brought to the U.S. at just 3 months old. Sadly, soon after his arrival, he became critically ill with FIP. His owner couldn't afford the expensive treatment and surrendered him to SpayMart, hoping we could save his life.

We did, and Homey pulled through like the little warrior he is. Today, he's healthy, thriving, and ready to find a quiet, loving home where he can truly shine.

Homey adores gentle brushing, cozying up for treats, and soaking in attention. He gets along well with other cats, but hasn't been around dogs or children and would likely do best in a calm, low-key household.

Homey is more than just a pretty face; he’s a survivor with a heart full of love. Please adopt Homey, or if you can't adopt, please share him!

This precious baby is such a beautiful gift that will light up someone's life. Will it be you?

Sweet Roseanna has been through more than any cat should ever endure.

She came to SpayMart after being shot and her injuries were so severe that her leg had to be amputated. She healed beautifully thanks to expert care and lots of love, and for a time, she was thriving in a foster home. But her foster was in Baton Rouge, and the long, stressful trips to New Orleans for follow-up appointments proved too much for her.

Now, Roseanna is back at SpayMart. She’s safe, but it’s not the home environment she needs to truly blossom. 💔

Roseanna is an extraordinary cat. Despite the trauma she’s endured, she remains gentle, trusting, and affectionate. She gets around just fine on three legs, and she absolutely loves attention from her people.

What she needs most right now is a quiet, loving home, either temporary or permanent, where she can finally rest, heal, and be doted on the way she deserves.

It all started with a simple trip to the local PetSmart to pick up some supplies for Judah, my 3yr. old tuxedo cat. A small portion of the building is dedicated to displaying about a dozen cats and kittens in kennels who are in need of a forever home. I visit with them regularly. But on one visit, there was this grey short-haired tabby, similar to a Russian Blue, lying on its side, eyes open, but just staring with such blank expression. It was such an empty and lonely stare, as if internally shutting down was how he dealt with the stress of being in a kennel. I watched him for several minutes. I could feel the hopelessness and loneliness that this cat was feeling. And I tried without success to get his attention and offer some sort of comfort. But his blank stare continued, and it thoroughly broke me. That empathy gave birth to NOLA Rescues, a page dedicated to helping cats and kittens at local shelters find good and loving homes.
I'm excited to share with you what I hope will be the first of many photos and videos of homeless cats and kittens who need help finding homes. And though these cats need homes, it is equally true that many homes need the love these precious babies have to offer!
