Eiders have a way of coming alive on the water—the posture, the weight, the subtle movement that only happens when bird and environment are treated as one.

Most studios incorporate water displays from time to time. At Waterfowl Artistry, it’s simply part of our everyday work. We’ve spent years refining how eiders sit, drift, and interact with water, returning to it again and again until it feels right.

For us, water isn’t an add-on or a backdrop—it’s part of the story. Each piece is built with consistency, patience, and respect for the bird and the conditions it’s known for. That steady focus has shaped how we approach eiders and water displays, and it shows in the finished work.

It’s not about doing more—it’s about doing it well, every time.

We are pleased to announce that we are ahead of schedule in our books for the 2024/25 season and are almost done all of our work for the year. We work hard to ensure that we only take in the amount of birds we can get done in one year. We are opening 30 slots for birds from now until Dec if anyone has birds in their freezer and wants to get them done quickly. These 30 slots will have a 120 or less day turn around shipped straight to your door. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Each day that passes gets us one more closer to salt air and cold weather. Our passion for eiders is the reason that 90 percent of the birds we mount every year are eiders and of that most are kings. If you are going to hunt kings this season and want us to preserve your trophies reach out to us now and we will make the process seamless.

Something different on the work bench today. I decided to hand cast the legs and put the orginal spurs back on. Definitely a lot nicer than dealing with injecting feet and these will never rot or get eaten by bugs.
