I had the pleasure of spending one night with this handsome guy, and he was such a sweetheart! ❤️

With the summer heat in full swing, we kept things nice and cool indoors (even though Thacher would’ve happily laid out in the sun all day if I’d let him! ☀️😂). Instead, we enjoyed some relaxing time inside, and his owner made him a refreshing pupsicle to help him beat the heat. 🧊🐶

He was an absolute joy to have around, and I loved getting to know his goofy, lovable personality. I can’t wait to see you again, Thacher! 💙

🌞 Hot weather can be dangerous for our pups! 🐶

As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that dogs can overheat much faster than we do.

🐾 Walk during the early morning or evening.
💧 Always bring fresh water.
🌳 Stick to shady areas whenever possible.
🔥 Test the pavement with the back of your hand, if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
🚨 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion like excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or confusion.

When in doubt, skip the long walk and do a quick potty break or indoor enrichment instead. No walk is worth risking your dog’s health.

Stay safe, stay cool, and give your furry friends some extra love this summer! ❤️🐕
