As many know I (Brittany, founder of Rough and Tumble Kennels) have a huge passion for helping all living things. I have always known the stray cat populations have been out of control. So when the first litter showed up in our backyard, we had to help. When the SECOND litter arrived at my In-laws, I really started to get a clearer idea about the help that was needed in our areas. On top of a few additional connections reaching out looking for help prior to starting our program, it gave us the final push to crate our TNR foundation.
Every donation helps for our type of programs. The physical and monetary, none of it goes to waste. For a litter of 4 kittens we go through 40lbs of litter every 2 weeks, a 12 lb bag in 2 weeks, 60 cans of wet food in 2 weeks. Getting them a clean bill of health from the vet and age appropriate vaccines. Sometime a spay/neuter pending age before adoption. In some cases getting medicine for the kittens. This last batch of kittens had 3 rounds of antibiotics before they got a clean bill of health. They had a gnarly URI (upper respiratory infection), a GI infection and an eye infection. Which took 3 rounds of different antibiotics to truly get over, this is highly due to the compromised immune system of being a stray.
We are a very small rescue and foundations starting, so our space is more limited than most. We have Spider and Ghoul still available for adoption. We would love for them to find their families for the holidays. That is our Christmas wish. If you don't have space for a special friend we understand times are hard. Any assistance to their care while they are with us will help and that is all we can ask for. Is help in caring for the helpless in anyway.
Adoption application, donation link, and Amazon wishlist can be found via our link tree.
Note: we do NOT deny helping adults or older strays, they just tend to be more difficult to capture so they sometimes don't receive help. Our testament is to help all we are notified of when we have space and funds to help.
