I love to find ways to care for myself. When I lived in Japan, we would go to Thailand for hydrotherapy treatments. Some of my friends would lose several pounds during a week's stay in some beachside hideaway. Darlene was kind and supportive without judgement, and right here in Grass Valley. Stormy with too much ☔️ rain has made our property and creek water logged. Creek tripled in size, and so much water pouring into our valley that we had a hillside slide onto our road, the only way in or out. Ducks 🦆 seem to be in HEAVEN.

I had no idea how entrenched I would become with gardening. I am starting to think of myself as a FarmGirl, for realz. Saving seeds brings me so much pleasure. Using every last drop. I can't wait for masses of starts to share next year. I was just ogling the seed pods on my kale. Lord, help me!

Seriously! I am done, well, for now. Four days of to the bone, non-stop, hot as all get out, and I killed another rattler. Just some finishing up and a bit of metal on the side no one will ever see. I hope they enjoy their new ramp and mini door.

Gilda Mae is gone. I think she was sitting on a nest because Jake the drake would sleep out from the coop, return to eat, and then leave again. About ten days ago, he started sleeping in the coop again. One of our Khaki Campbell babies has a crest on her head, perfectly placed like an elegant chignon. I have never seen a crested Campbell duck...a sweet gift from Mother Earth. Thank you.
