Rodeo season is right around the corner — is your horse ready?

I have 3 spring spots available at Rays Performance Horse Training and I’m accepting a limited number to ensure each horse gets the time, consistency, and individual attention they deserve, especially since we only travel to you as of right now due to not having an area for horses. We are located in New Holstein Wi and willing to travel!

We offer more than just barrel racing and roping. Programs include:

• Barrel horse patterning & finishing
• Roping foundation & performance work
• Trail riding training & desensitizing
• Tune-ups & refresher training
• C**t starting & foundation work
• Confidence building for “pushy” or inconsistent horses
• Exposure to flags, arenas, and real-world scenarios

My goal is to build a broke, responsive, willing partner — not just a quick fix. Whether you’re wanting a competitive edge or a safe, reliable trail horse, we’ll create a program that fits your goals.

Our first training horse did such an amazing job for his last year with us.. He put his heart and soul into rodeo even though he wasn’t the best candidate for larger rodeos due to being older and anxious he still put his all into it.. It was great seeing and being able to grow, learn and improve with Apollo these last few years after giving him a second chance coming for a kill lot. He made me a better horseman and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better partner over the years he is an amazing horse. Unfortunately he is no longer going to be my main barrel horse As I am ready to move up in levels and start doing more pro rodeos all thanks to him. He might still come to a few smaller shows he and there but now he is another persons blessing and he loves them lots Apollo is an amazing horse despite everything he has been through and I can’t thank him enough for making rodeo possible for me and trusting me through everything I’ve put him through He helped me achieve my first horse, training, hs rodeo, beginner lessons, and even helped me gain even more confidence whe helped me achieve my goals, helped me through bad days and good days, and I helped him have an amazing life, even though we had our ups and downs and there were days I wanted to give up and quit I never did, he stayed by my side through everything even if I got off an walked away because I was so frustrated he would come and follow me and stay by my side despite how upset or angry I was, I was his priority and he was mine, he loved and trusted me with everything and so did I and that’s all we needed from each other, a loyal partner.. I love this horse whole heartedly and he loves me we were an amazing team and even went as far as to win us a buckle this year.. just because he isn’t my main rodeo horse anymore does not mean I love him any less… does not mean we aren’t still a team… it does not mean I’ve given up on him.. another horse will never take his place he has set the bar high and I’m so glad another family gets to enjoy him while I still get to see him and love him it truly is a blessing.

✨ Training Day Progress ✨
Today we tried on a pair of back boots and spent some time really figuring this girl out — what she likes, what she doesn’t, and how she learns best. This is the first ride with her home she is a little puzzle, but that’s what makes training so rewarding. 🧩🐴

She’s been opening up more, relaxing, and meeting me halfway. The bond we’re building is growing stronger every day, and seeing her try for me makes all the difference. ❤️

Slow steps, small wins, and lots of feel — that’s how we get there.

Welcoming this 4-year-old blue roan QH mare all the way from Freer, TX to Wisconsin. She’ll be in the program gearing up for rodeos and building muscle for next season. Can’t wait to get her polished and showing. Keep an eye out at the rodeos, she’ll be making appearances.r
