Pay the Pooch People Help us help UPAWS raise money for their General Fund in order to pay salary-based employees that work to find Marquette area animals their forever homes.

While improving the quality of life and welfare for over 1,500 domestic animals in the Marquette area each year, UPAWS sees annual expenses of over $400,000 while maintaining their No-Kill philosophy. These costs include their general operating costs, fundraising expenses, building improvement expenses, and the cost of paying their 11 salary-based employees. UPAWS is thankful to have hundreds of v

olunteers at the shelter and those participating in fundraising events, but what about the employees that are there every single day? With our campaign we hope to raise at least $3,000 to go towards the General Fund that will help deter some of the costs associated with UPAWS employee expenses. This would allow more of the fundraising event benefits to go directly towards helping each animal at UPAWS find their forever home. What’s in it for you? Of course we want to say thank you for all of the generous donations we receive on our indiegogo.com campaign site, so we have set up a perk program to give thanks to our supporters. With a $5 donation you will receive a personal thank you email with a picture from one of the pets currently at UPAWS hoping to find their forever home. With a $10 donation you will receive a voucher to redeem at UPAWS for a customized UPAWS desk set. This set includes a pen, sticker, and notepad (while supplies last). With a $25 donation you and your pet will be featured in our campaign on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Please be sure to include your email and we will get a hold of you to get a picture of you and your pet for our campaign. With a $50 donation you will again be featured in our campaign, but also receive a voucher to redeem at UPAWS for a UPAWS water bottle (while supplies last). And lastly, with a $100 donation you will be featured in our campaign and receive a voucher to redeem at UPAWS for a UPAWS t-shirt (while supplies last). This is Mr. Peterson! He was dropped on the side of the road by his owner and was never picked back up. The Koster family took him in and has been his forever home ever since! Mr. Bad, as his owner Audrey likes to call him, enjoys short walks to the post office, getting his belly rubbed, and playing around the shop and greeting customers at Mertaugh Boat Works.
