Omg. Please adopt Benji!
We have a special favor to ask.
Can you help us find the right person for Benji?
Sometimes the very best dogs get overlooked, and Benji is one of them. He's been waiting at Williamson County Animal Center since March, and we'd love to see him finally head home. In his kennel, this 75-pound guy can look a little intimidating—but step outside with him, and you'll quickly realize that's not who he is at all.
A volunteer recently described him as "the perfect gentleman."
At 3 years old, Benji is a handsome brown mixed-breed with unforgettable blue eyes and a heart that's ready to belong to someone. On his recent outing, he rode beautifully in the car, walked without pulling on the leash, happily carried his beloved Lamb Chop stuffie, knew his "sit" cue, and wasn't vocal. When another dog caught his attention on a walk, he simply looked, was easily redirected, and continued on without any negative reaction.
Benji loves a good case of the zoomies, splashing in the water, and spending time outdoors before settling in for a well-earned nap. He'd thrive with a fenced yard or an active family that enjoys getting outside. While he can be selective about canine friends, we're happy to arrange a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to help everyone get off on the right paw.
Dogs like Benji are why we always encourage people to look beyond the kennel door. Some personalities simply shine brightest once they're given a chance.
And if you're planning to watch the USA take on Belgium in the World Cup tonight, Benji would be more than happy to cheer on Team USA from your couch with his favorite Lamb Chop stuffie by his side. We think he's waited long enough for a home team of his own.
If you're not able to adopt, sharing Benji's story could help him reach the person who's been looking for a loyal best friend all along.
