Hot Biscuits Amaranth. I don’t know who needs to hear this…but if you forget to pinch the center stem..:your amaranth may look like this.

It’s actually really gorgeous. The color 😍 The texture 😍

This is take 2 bc the 1st take was trying to cut it with a knife and it absolutely didn’t budge! 😂

Gardening with toddlers 😂

My grandparents grew a small patch of corn and sunflowers 🌻 when I was a kid. But to me it felt huge!! My favorite was running through the tall stems in the summer.

It makes me so happy to see my kids get lost in all the flowers. Am I behind on the weeding? YES! Plant supports? YES! Harvesting? YES! And all the things…
BUT those things are also making magic for her in the garden 💕

Loving these Coco Gold Marigolds! From Johnny's Selected Seeds

They definitely need support. I’ve found the best way is to use Tenax Hortonova netting horizontally and connect it with zip ties to T-posts.

I planted these randomly throughout the garden beds, forgetting how HUGE they get! But these are AMAZING at deterring deer and rabbits. My primary reason for planting them in all the beds was for that reason. At the beginning of the season I had several sunflowers damaged by deer 🦌 and have had ZERO issues since these marigolds were planted.

I personally love their fragrance and they’re incredibly productive! Also, these will be the last flowers standing in the garden even after a light frost arrives at the end of the season. ❄️
