Meet Gracy! Gracy is a shy pup who is one with the beach. She is definitely a Myrtle Beach local, because everytime we walk on the beach she breaks out a big happy smile. The second we go back onto the sidewalk, she is ready to go back home.

After a long walk on the beach, Gracy enjoys sprawling out on the cold brick floor, spreading her body out as much as possible for maximum cooling. I love Gracy!

MEET LINUS: Linus, the beagle king of lazy, has mastered the art of couch sprawl. This guy flattens himself like a pancake, maximizing every inch for prime petting real estate—pet him, and he’s in bliss. While his brother Banjo’s tearing up the yard, Linus just yawns from the sidelines, maybe lifting an ear to judge our chaos.

His doggy door? Strictly for bathroom purposes, before he’s back, melting into the cushions. My favorite? When Linus snuggles up with Banjo for a rare cuddle—pure beagle love.

MEET BANJO: Banjo’s a handsome beagle with an affinity for toys. Banjo plays like it’s his last day on Earth. I toss a toy, he snatches it asap every time. Fetch? Tug-of-war? We’re out here battling until I’m toast. He has a doggy door he is able to run inside, hydrate, and come back outside for round two.

Banjo has 2 siblings, Linus and Reece. They prefer to lounge on the couch and watch Banjo and I run around. My favorite thing is when Linus and Banjo cuddle together. Such love between these beagles.

One day I'm walking Melanie. She gets so hyped for walks, bouncing like she’s about to conquer the world. But two seconds into our stroll, she’s tugging me back toward home, ready to flop for belly rubs! I try to take her on our usual route, and she just sits down, giving me this look like, “Same path? Nah, I need adventure.” So, I see where she wants to go and now I’ve mapped half her neighborhood chasing her need for variety. Some dawgs just need some spice in life, and Melanie is one of those dogs.

MEET LOLA: Lola is a happy go lucky girl who cannot resist a good playtime. I have spent many an hour outside chasing her back and forth. Once I have chased her and am collapsing of exhaustion, we come back inside to where she rests for about 8 whole minutes. After that she is ready to play again and throws toys at you until you comply. She may be small but watching her run at Mach speeds has taught me a thing or two about motion and movement itself. Like her brother Harley, she still can't resist a good belly rub.

DOG TIP TIME: Ever wonder why your pup goes wild when you grab the leash, but then pulls like they’re training for the Olympics? Try this: when they start tugging, stop walking and stand still like a statue. Only move forward when the leash is slack.

It takes patience (and maybe a few treats!), but over time, they’ll learn that pulling gets them nowhere, and a calm walk gets them sniffing all the good stuff. *UPDATE* WHY I DO THIS: I’m SO close to hitting my fundraising goal for this month! Just one more client, and I’m there! Let me share why this dog-sitting gig means so much to me. Next year, I’m heading out for a 2-year mission, a calling from my faith to serve God by serving others. For those who don’t know, a mission in my church means volunteering somewhere in the world—maybe a nearby city, maybe across the globe—to do service work. It’s about lifting people up, sharing hope, and showing Christ’s love through actions. It’s all volunteer, so I’m saving every penny to make it happen.

That’s where my love for dogs comes in. I truly believe God gave us these furry, tail-wagging pals to teach us joy, loyalty, and love—lessons I’ll carry into my mission. Every walk, every overnight, every slobbery grin I get while caring for your pups helps me fund this journey. TRUE STORY: My friend and I were doing an overnight, for a bulldog named Divi. We all went to bed and Divi insisted on sleeping in the bed with me. Turns out the dog snores like crazy. As I was having a touch time sleeping, I heard another snoring noise coming from my friend! They were the same pitch, same snorty rhythm.

Now I'm wide awake wondering if I'm in a comedy sketch, or just doomed to listen to their snoring harmonization. I no longer dog sit with other people. 😂

Meet Melanie! Melanie is a very small cockapoo with a very big heart. She gets so excited for walks and yet 2 seconds after being on one she is excited to go back home to be pet. I recently learned she likes variety on her walks, refusing to walk the same path twice. I have now explored much of her neighborhood because of this. Her #1 goal in life is to lie down and get belly rubs 24/7.
